2:30 PM UPDATE: Avid photographer missing after preparing Super Bowl party
[...]

"Yesterday's weather was fairly mild," Conley said. "It wouldn't be uncommon for someone to walk on the rocks to take a photograph and perhaps slip or fall. I'm not saying that is what happened here, but is something that we consider."

[...]

Flynn's neighbor, RW, said none of it makes sense.

"I just can't see inviting everyone over, the oven's warm, and she left the phone in the house," RW said, who has known Flynn since she moved into her home.

[…]

Both Conley and RW confirmed that Flynn is an avid outdoor enthusiast and it is not uncommon for her to go on walks.

"She is a wildlife nature photographer," RW said. "She would hide in the woods and take photographs of coyotes and stuff."

[…]

"We know, because she was an avid outdoors enthusiast, that we are searching both areas around the water and our wooded areas as well," Conley said.

[...]
I doubt this is related to Abbie disappearance but:

A couple things stood out to me in the article...the age of the victim, the fact that the suspect told police he had been in Gloucester earlier and the way he was described as acting suspiciously at Pavilion Beach seemed reminiscent of reports of suspicious behavior near Brace Cove when Abbie went missing.

This incident is disturbing and begs all kinds of questions, especially since he said he had been Gloucester earlier that day to make a delivery, but in a later account he provided, he told authorities he came directly from Mattapan to the Ipswich beach? Why did he mention Gloucester at all? I’m sure Gloucester Police and whichever other authorities investigating Abbie Flynn’s disappearance are looking into this.

Has anyone mentioned who the friends were who came by for the party that day? Or if anyone has looked into their story? Also, if she meant to go missing why have a party? Or call your son? Where is her mom? Siblings? Best friends? Anyone’s pleas?? Just so weird.
MOO
I read on another site that it was s neighbor couple.

I haven't seen what the suspicious behavior back then was. Mentioning Gloucester, just chilling to me. He is a photographer it seems as well. She didn't have her dog with her at the time she was out though regarding the 'dog massage' thing. Well, I assume he'll be thoroughly questioned due this at the Pavilion.

A friend of Abbie's who also happens to be a photographer is a regular contributor to the site Good Morning Gloucester. She reported to police that she was out walking around the same time that Abbie was thought to have gone out and observed "suspicious behavior" near Niles Pond. There was a car deemed to be suspicious as well, which she was able to give police a description of.

Well then, if the car matches. It's a big start to possibly find an answer. I guess only the police know what the 'suspicious behavior' was then of car and whatever seemed suspicious to the other woman walking. Awful.

Wow! Do you have an MSM/LE source? I'd love to know more about that.

It's from Good Morning Gloucester, the entry by Kim Smith on February 3rd.

Can you provide a link? I found that post, but it was only four sentences long and I didn't see this information there.

Thank you for the article...gray vehicle gave me goosebumps, wasn't there a gray vehicle in Annie's vicinity? Being at the beach also. Grabbing someone in public like that. OMG. If you exit the center of Gloucester, you hit a road circle, one of the exits goes straight to Ipswich. I hope LE rechecks every piece of camera footage for that car. what if he has Annie somewhere??? Sounds like a vicious predator IMO.

This area in Ipswich is much like Brace Cove. Can be seen as isolated at many times. The roads are surrounded by high grass and nearby is the isolated Crane estate and Crane beach. Beautiful area with not much foot traffic. Even when the estate has events, it can appear as a hidden, private area. Pavilion Beach has traffic during the summer, but no swimmers now for sure. So much high grass in that area, as far as you can see. Makes me think Abbie, a lifelong Gloucester lover, maybe didn't fall off the rocks. Too much coincidence here IMO.

If you look at his photography, it is eerie IMO. Did he know Annie? Big question. The town just north of Gloucester is Rockport, an art enclave, so much support for artists, many classes, many shows and sales of photography and painting. Rockport has an amazing art community. Not far from Ipswich at all.

Sure, it's right here...in the second paragraph she talks about walking at the same time as Abbie and seeing something that needed to be reported. More info about reporting a car in the comments (the person who wrote the article is responding). Sorry, I didn't realize it was so hard to find. Note: Good Morning Gloucester is the site that carried the interview with the Chief of Police that we have been discussing here and she is a regular contributor of articles to the site.

UPDATE ON GLOUCESTER MISSING PERSON ABBIE FLYNN
I remember reading this - about someone seeing unusual activity (something like that) near the pond. I always thoughtI read where it had been resolved/looked into/found to be not related.

Heaven help me to find where I read that.

That COULD have been in the Chief's interview, not sure. But even say the Ipswich guy isn't the same as the suspicious car at Niles Pond, it's still an odd situation for the other reasons.

I thought so too at the time. It made sense to follow up on it and I thought they would. After reading it was not related, or something to that effect, I let it go. Now it seems it could be connected after all.

We should presume it was investigated and also this new potential link is being looked into as well. I can't imagine LE not, especially with all the searching that was immediately initiated .

The suspicious behavior and vehicle Kim Smith saw was a white van and the Chief said it checked out. Still, was at least one additional white van police were looking at and he said that LE believed they knew what that van was, but I have not heard any clarification from LE on that since.
