MA MA - Abbie Flynn, 60, went for walk before Super Bowl party, Gloucester, 2 Feb 2020

IMO I recall a missing persons case of a middle aged man who went out for a run and disappeared. There were local searches, no stone unturned, etc.
He was eventually found not too far from home, in a seldom used Porta Potty.
Cause of death was cardiac arrest. So, Imo anything nearby that could conceal a human needs to be checked. Imo
Holy cow. What a horrible place to spend you last moment.

Missing persons often become dead persons so I think it would be perfectly logical to bring cadaver dogs to the house. As you pointed out, experience has shown that the deceased have been found in strange places. The smarter question is “why wouldn’t cadaver dogs come to the house of a missing person?”

Because without exception the missing person is presumed to be gone. Out in public. Gone. Two blocks away. A mile away. It’s not like every Ricky dink police department has a cadaver dog. They don’t. If a cadaver dog was produced for every missing person the dog would lose its effectiveness.

Not at all implying this happened to Abbie but there is a case of a man in NY who went missing 60 years ago. His wife said he just up and left the family. Never filed s missing persons report. Last year his skeletal remains were located buried under the basement of his own home!!! His son’s and grandchildren initiated this process based on a psychic’s findings. Victim of homicide.

Spider92 said there is a vehicle with Texas plates in the driveway so the husband must be in the house. I assume he's been there almost since this occurred so I would think he would have smelled something, ya think?
Could be Abbie’s Car.

Wow that's a long way to drive all by yourself. She must have been planning to stay for a while.
She grew up in this area & the house is the fam vaca home. She’s a retired nurse. Husband doctor still working. Perhaps they planned to eventually retire there. Seems this was a “normal” thing for them.

I believe it was said she stayed there most of the time since 2 of her kids were in college on East Coast (including one not far away in Maine) and one living in NY.

Abbie's case is frustrating. Nothing to go on, no path to take. Vanished.

No evidence of accident, reported mental or health issues, romantic interest, family issues, motive; and a lack of information from the family and LE. No released video of Abbie from that afternoon.

Why the radio silence?

In the tragic case of Kathleen Ryan, there was months of similar silence and confusing lack of LE and family information.
@inmyhumbleopinion stuck with it and dug up some background information on Kathleen that put some light on the situation, and what might have happened.

Found Deceased - WI - Kathleen Ryan, adult, teacher, car found burned with body inside, St. Francis, 2 Feb 2019 #2

Yup, I was thinking of Kathleen's case too. Even if she was not a drinker but had the booze out for the party, she could have had a drink got buzzed and tried walking it off (said she was going for a walk), walked out on the rocks slipped and fell in the ocean. She is not on land as far as we know. People do things when they are inebriated they would never normally do..... That's my take.

My vote’s on @Spider92 ’s #5 idea- medical issue led her to house/building for phone/medical supplies & she never made it out. Or collapsed in woods. Or jealous person from HS days. I’m not getting drowning, suicide or alcohol. But who the heck knows. She could be in brush ¼ mile down the road & found 20 years from now. I hope her family gets closure soon.

I don’t know.
Doesn’t it seem reasonable that LE, at the very least, if not the family as well, would be pleading with the public for information and vigilance if they suspected she was down in the brush or in a wooded area? If they thought for a single moment she could be down in the area, they’d still be looking, no? I have to believe that they have a theory and it doesn’t warrant asking for tips and/or continuing to search. What does that mean? I don’t know, but again, they know. IMHO

IF she had a drink before she left, they would have seen the glass I presume. Maybe they surmised she went toward the water. People that are inebriated always walk toward water. I don't know why. My bet is she is in the water.

People who are sober also walk toward the water. Or so I've been told

Really! I never heard of that. There are many cases of people who have been drinking, that walk INTO the water.

I have no clue how to delete my post above, anyway there are many cases of people who had been drinking that walk INTO the water.

True, that inebriated people sometimes end up in the water, and I have my own theory about that.
What’s different in this case is that it was daylight when she disappeared.
The other cases of folks in the water, from what I’ve followed, have been during the dark of night.
I don’t know when the theory started that Abbie may have been inebriated, but I don’t follow.
She was cooking, baked cookies, left pizza dough rising on the stove.
And she spoke to her son and mentioned that she may go for a walk.
Surely, he would have noticed if she was so inebriated.
And, who decides to take a stroll when expecting guests and knowing one has to finish making pizza for those guests after having a few cocktails?
Let’s drink while awaiting guests to a point where I am incoherent, and, oh, why don’t I take in a nice stroll?
Nah, I don’t buy it.
MOO
