"Authorities are searching for a 53-year-old Wendell man they suspect of murdering Amanda Glover, 48, of 179 West St. with a shotgun at about 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, and to be in connection with a separate shooting in Chicopee an hour later."

"A warrant has been issued for Lewis H. Starkey III, also of 179 West St., on charges of murder, assault to murder, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Starkey is believed to be driving a 2013 Lincoln MKX with Vermont license plate of QLTMKR."

Suspect apprehended within a half hour from where the murder occurred.

"9:15am Lewis Starkey was apprehended in Orange Mass in the same red vehicle he'd been reported in," explained Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk.

Police arrest man wanted in connection with Wendell murder

"The Telegram reports there were four sightings of Starkey Sunday morning before he was taken into custody.
Starkey is being held on $1 million bail at the Franklin County Correction Center. He is facing charges of murder, armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is expected to be arraigned Monday in the Orange District Court. "

Trooper Lucas said there were four “confirmed sightings” Sunday morning of Mr. Starkey, whose car had been parked in a driveway in Wendell. a short distance from his home. State police personnel, including the Air Wing and dog units, were en route to the area when they received word that Mr. Starkey had been taken into custody by Orange police.

To put this in perspective, Wendell has roughly 900 residents. It's very rural, but also very small town close. The idea that anyone wanted for murder of a resident would assume he could hang out close to the murder scene in a car with vanity plates is rather mindboggling.
