Following eight days of testimony and five hours of deliberation, the 12-person jury convicted Rosa-Roman in the death of Amanda Plasse, who bled to death on her kitchen floor after being stabbed several times on Aug. 26, 2011.

Sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday; a first degree murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

A Hampden County Superior Court Judge on Tuesday sentenced Dennis Rosa-Roman to the mandatory sentence of life in prison with no chance for parole for the first degree murder of Amanda Plasse in her Chicopee apartment nearly five years ago.

Man convicted of murdering Amanda Plasse denied new trial | WWLP

The state’s highest court denied an appeal by Dennis Rosa-Roman, who was convicted of first degree murder.

Plasse was killed inside her Chicopee apartment in 2011. Rosa-Roman insisted that someone else stabbed Plasse, and that he was only trying to help her.

He had argued for a new trial but was denied his appeal Tuesday by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He is serving life in prison.
