i did not realize the full chain of events until i just got a chance to look at today's paper - first off, this man wasnt looking to rob people he was looking to kill people, the robbing was incidental it would appear.

i also did not realize that the attack on Amy Lord was the 2nd of the 3 he committed in this spree, i was under the impression it was the 3rd. so after killing her in the park he went on to attack another woman, this time not making any attempt to rob her it would seem, just attacking her and stabbing her repeatedly, the first girl he told her that he was not robbing her he was going to kill her.

im not sure if im allowed to post this article, im sure a mod will edit if its not ok and i apologize in advance if so (it might only be available to subscribers);

"during a 19-hour period that began Tuesday at 4:20 a.m., when police said he assaulted a 22-year-old who was walking along Old Colony Avenue to her job at Dunkin’ Donuts.

The woman said her assailant punched her in the jaw, then dragged her by her feet to an open parking lot. Terrified, she told him to take everything she had.

“I’m not robbing you,” he told her, according to a police report. “I’m going to kill you.”

Then, the man asked her if she spoke Spanish. She said yes. He looked at her carefully, still holding her by the neck with his hands, then said in Spanish: “You're not the one I’m looking for. I’m sorry.”

He told her his name was Miguel, picked up her things that had fallen to the ground, and handed them to her, according to the account.

He began walking toward Dorchester Street, but not before warning the woman to not call police because he knew where she worked. Scared, the victim waited until 5 a.m. to make the call.

At 6 a.m., records show Lord used her ATM card for the first time. Her body was found by a cyclist in Hyde Park around 4 p.m.

Then, shortly after midnight on Wednesday, a 21-year-old woman was walking to her apartment on Gates Street in South Boston when she noticed a man following her.

She repeatedly looked over her shoulder and tried to rush into her apartment, according to the police report, when the man grabbed her and began stabbing her.

A neighbor, a man in his 20s, heard her cry out.

“The worst scream I’ve ever heard in my life,” the neighbor said Friday. The neighbor, who did not want his name published, said he could see the assailant on top of the woman from his third floor window, yelled at the man to stop, then called 911.

Another neighbor, a man in his 40s, rushed over, and also yelled at the attacker, who suddenly stopped, looked coolly at the man in the window and walked away.

“What are you doing?” the older neighbor asked the man, according to a police report.

“Junkie tried to rob me,” the man replied, then calmly walked away.

“That was the oddest and scariest thing about all of this,” the younger neighbor recounted. “The guy didn’t even run from the scene, when he knew two witnesses were looking at him.”

hopefully the police are scouring unsolved cases seeing if he fits any of them, he is way too cool about everything and has such a long rap sheet, it would not be surprising to learn he has killed in the past.

the case from last year where he choked a woman unconscious and his ID was left at the scene (she woke up with his wallet in her hand) is infuriating. since he was described as a drifter early on i assumed they tried to find him but could not track him down, but it appears that maybe it was not ever seriously pursued? how the heck does that happen?

i suppose an investigation will get to the bottom of that (one is underway) so its best to wait for all the facts to come out.

A suspect accused of kidnapping and murdering 24-year-old Amy Lord plans to offer an insanity defense.

Edwin Alemany's attorney, Jeffrey Denner, confirmed to FOX 25 his client plans to enter a not guilty by reason of insanity plea in the murder trial. Denner previously said his client is suffering from severe mental illness, and should not be held criminally responsible.

Alemany has pleaded not guilty to 20 charges, including first-degree murder, in the July 2013 death of Amy Lord, a Wilbraham native living in South Boston.

Alemany's trial had been scheduled to begin this Friday. But his attorney asked that it be postponed until February...

Alemany had been incarcerated at Bridgewater State Hospital, the state's secure mental health facility, since he was arrested in July 2013. He spent a single night in the Nashua Street Jail in August, where he attempted suicide, his lawyer said then.

Denner confirmed this week that Alemany had been discharged from Bridgewater State Hospital and moved to the Worcester County House of Corrections.

The state Department of Labor Relations on Friday upheld the demotion of Jerome Hall-Brewster from detective to patrol officer, in July 2013, the police department said...

Evans’s predecessor, Edward F. Davis, stripped Hall-Brewster of his detective’s badge after learning that he failed to arrest Alemany in September 2012 for an assault of a woman in Roxbury who lost consciousness when a man attacked her. Police have said that the woman woke up holding a wallet that contained Alemany’s ID card.

http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2015/05/20/prosecutor-makes-opening-statement-murder-south-boston-woman/uPhyphbEfeUi0kSINPN25H/story.html

In a courtroom filled with Amy Lord’s friends and family, a Suffolk County prosecutor Wednesday described the final hours of Lord’s life, saying she was murdered by Edwin Alemany.

This trial has begun. If anyone knows what needs to be done to get this moved to the Trial forum, please do so. I made two similar requests to two different mods in other trials and nothing happened, so I have officially given up.
