“She’s one of four children and every child is special,” said neighbor DA “We’re all devastated. We see her skedaddle quite a bit and she doesn’t understand.. her mother will turn her back and she’s like a roadrunner.”

“We are asking people to go outside to do a real search of their backyards, of playhouses, under wood piles, in a shed they may have,” said Ryan. “Any place that a 4′7″, 70-pound, 7-year-old little girl could be hiding.”

Police scoured the area with bikes, four-wheelers, K9 units and a drone in the hope of finding Anna before nightfall. Dive teams searched the Merrimack River, that runs through the neighborhood.

Family friends told Boston 25 News they had just seen Anna with her family earlier in the day at church and that they are still holding out hope for a positive outcome.

“We’re asking everyone for prayers. This is heartbreaking and we’re just hoping, we’re praying we’ve seen god do miracles we are trusting this is going to end up well,” said BN.

The parents have 4 special needs children? Am I understanding that correctly?

SO MUCH CREDIT to the police for mounting this incredible search, to the volunteers, to the dispatchers and organizers who came in for voluntary overtime, for all of this. I believe she is in the water, sadly. I believe that there is substantial story here, meaningful views as to caring and oversight and the “should haves.” We’re now past that in reality and into the land of the “has happened.”. I hope and pray for the absolute best.

Beatrice Nkuna, a friend of the missing girl’s family, spoke to members of the press near the intersection of Geana Lane and East Merrimack Street, as dozens of law enforcement agencies and members of the community scoured the area.

“They are just there waiting on a miracle,” ❤️ Nkuna said about the girl’s family. “We are all asking God to make a miracle happen. We have seen this so many times in this area. We hope this ends up well.”

Nkuna was refencing Harry Kkonde, a 3-year-old boy who went missing in the Pawtucketville neighborhood just over a year ago. The little boy was found deceased in a pond near his babysitter’s house the day after his disappearance.

Before the sun started to set on Sunday, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon encouraged members of the Belvidere community to get outside and search for Anna around their homes.

“Please try to help us bring her home this evening,” Ryan said.

“She’s one of four children but every child is special,” said neighbor Deborah Agrella. “We’re all devastated.

“We see her skedaddle quite a bit because she doesn’t understand. Her mother will turn her back and she’s like a roadrunner,” said Agrella, punctuating the statement with a zooming gesture.

As the light began to fade, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan issued an urgent plea to Belvidere residents to search their homes and backyards for Anna.

“We are asking people to go outside to do a real search of their backyards, of playhouses, under wood piles, in a shed they may have,” said Ryan. “Any place that a 4′7″, 70-pound, 7-year-old little girl could be hiding.

“‘What if that was our kid’ That’s how we feel,” said neighbor Christina Cervantes. “We just gotta got out there and look for her like she’s our baby.”

Although the DA originally stated the search for Anna would pause for the night shortly before 10 p.m., Lowell police did say some officers would continue searching into the early hours of Monday morning.

She was seen by others, in church with her family on Sunday. Then last seen on her bike around 2 ? I think that helps clear her family of suspicion---that is a very short window of opportunity. And with 3 other children, most likely present, there would be too many eyes for someone to get away with anything in that short time.

Sadly, I think she really did wander off on her bike, and may have gone to the river?:(
