I absolutely don't know what to think about the jury taking this long. Sounds as if there may be a hold out or maybe more than one. I would be one absolutely refusing to find MM guilty with the evidence (or lack of) presented. I would not cave.

The longer a jury stays together and even shares meals together, the more they bond. (no pun intended on the word 'bond') I hope the defense attorney on the jury incessantly points out that the only so-called evidence the prosecution has offered is the word of RB, and that is worth even less than nothing. I believe RB to be the real murderer.

Lastly, I have to say that I think the jury instructions are playing a hand in this deliberation. They are confusing.

I agree, I wouldn't cave either. Putting the wrong person in jail isn't justice for that little girl, it just furthers the tragedy. This long wait is making me anxious.

For the life of me I cannot remember if the jury knows about RB's other children being taken away. Can anyone please tell me?

Yes it was introduced during direct examination I believe.

If we are finding it tough waiting for this verdict, can you imagine MM & Shapiro?

Raw video MM and RB arraignment back on Sept 21, 2025 Deakin giving all the details to the judge. Very interesting. I never saw this before. At times MM looking like what the heck and shaking his head for instance when Deakin says MM said it was "she's a demon it was her time to die.

Wow I had not seen this. RB has a very angry look IMO. Does anyone know who the woman was that was escorted out and what she was saying? Couldn't understand it.

That was Megan Fewtrell, Bella's godmother. She was very angry.

From that tweet I feel frustration amongst jurors. Maybe holdouts to convict or not to convict. Ugh

Jurors in the Michael P. McCarthy murder trial continue to maintain their silence, sent home this afternoon without posing a single question that might hint at where they stand after nearly 16 hours of deliberations over three days.
......
The jury communicates with Courtroom 906 of Suffolk Superior Court by activating a red light at the desk of a court officer. Today, the light never flashed.
.....
Among those in court today was Michael Sprinsky, the former best friend who testified against McCarthy.

I haven't finished watching the entire trial. The only time I have seen MM react with a shake of the head when the camera panned on him during the trial was at the same point, where Rachelle described him killing Bella and what he'd said about it. Other than that I've seen him looking at screens and papers and commenting to Shapiro and the co-counsel but no obvious body language reactions like shaking or nodding the head.

I found it interesting that he made the same kind of physical reaction at that point that he had during the arraignment.

I only remember them specifically talking about one of the children being taken away. I don't recall what details were given of that, though? RB did mention several times during her own testimony about one of the children being taken away by DCF as she was using that as a time reference tool (I think it was about being in prostitution and when asked when that happened she said it was not long after she lost her son to DCF).

I think there was a lot of discussion between the attorneys and the judge about it without the jurors present and maybe also in sidebar.

Is anyone here an attorney or someone with law experience who knows if it is a mistrial will RB walk? I hope not.

I don't have any law experience or knowledge, but I believe that a hung jury = mistrial?

And the plea agreement stipulates what happens if there's a mistrial. It's best to go back and look at the exact wording, but from my memory it said in the event of a mistrial RB stays in jail either until a non-mistrial verdict is given or a given date in December 2017, whichever comes soonest.

But her release is still dependent on completion of the plea deal, which rests upon her being deemed to have given truthful and complete information in her testimony on the stand.
