I think the fact MM is not taking the stand indicates he knew something of Bella's death. I don't think his lawyer would allow him to take the stand if there is a chance he would lie about something.

Respectfully disagree. The Judge advised that the defendant is innocent until PROVEN guilty without reasonable doubt. The Commonwealth has yet to prove their case. IMO

I think he's not testifying because the prosecution case is weak.
