So incredibly frustrated Baby Doe is still nameless.

No news on Baby Doe - was so hoping there would be a break by now. Am sure that LE is working very hard to find out what happened.

Oh my. Even her thread is at a standstill. Poor baby doe! I wonder if it would help for another forensic artist to create another photo??? I really feel confident In the first rendering being pretty realistic, but a second rendering couldn't hurt, and it would give the media a reason to refocus on her.

This might be a dumb question, but why not just release a post mortem photo? Maybe she doesn't look like the photo and someone would recognize her actual face, even in death? I mean, I know that's gruesome, but what have they got to lose?

I agree with you. Somebody, outside of the family has to know who she is. This is so sad.

I think the slowing down of information could just be due to the weekend. You never release news that you want to get a wide range of coverage on the weekend. I'll be more worried if we don't hear any updates next week.

so how far is the Charles river from Deer Island? Have we heard of any possible connection?

She was found floating. The only connection I could see after all this time is if the Mom of Baby Doe jumped off the Harvard bridge after all the publicity. I hope they will cross check DNA.

"Jake Wark, a spokesman for the district attorney's office, said the woman was believed to be in her 30s. Investigators have made a tentative identification, but will only release her name if her death is "believed to be the result of criminal conduct," he said"

WCVB has learned the tips have suggested the girl could be one of more than 100 children from 32 states, from New England to Arizona and California.

About 4 tips per day suggesting a specific child. I wonder what % of that is people suggesting missing children that they saw online v. children that they know personally? I think it shows that it could take more time before someone puts two and two together.

Yes, an object thrown into the Charles River could potentially wind up at Deer Island, depending on tides and currents and such. The Charles empties into Boston Harbor right there.

In theory. And this one's more plausible than most.

  • #232
The woman in the river could also have been victimized by whoever else may have been involved in not reporting the baby's death.

From the above links they have a tentative ID of the woman. From that they will likely know if she had any children.

Condolences to the woman and family but hoping it leads to a name for Baby.

Sounds very plausible doesn't it.

What about the locks at the dam? I feel it's a long distance but it's plausible. From the dam to deer island it has to make it past all the wharves in East Boston and Boston, but if it does make it past the airport, then the west side of Deer Island is quite likely.

I wouldn't want to speculate on the details because yes, it's somewhat unlikely. A full body probably wouldn't make it that far, but a floating garbage bag might, especially if it caught the outgoing tide.

Back in the 1970' police showed us a missing girl from our neighborhood, found deceased and show all teenagers at different hang-outs a post mortem photo from the morgue. Do they do that now that they have facial recognition
artists?

If I was going to kill myself and my baby, I would leave our bodies together. But then....maybe that's sane thinking? 'Cause sane people don't kill themselves and their baby. :shrugs:

I was thinking more that she caused the baby's death and then couldn't deal with it.

They plan to install 84 digital billboards in 50 locations!!!

"Massachusetts State Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office are working with MassDOT to expand outreach to the public through digital billboards seeking assistance identifying the unknown toddler whose body was found on Deer Island last month."

The baby's family must also be incompacitated because no one seems to be missing a little girl. Its astounding that no one has come forth.
