I don't post often, but am here reading all the time. I am horrified to hear the identity, I know the mother and cannot believe this! She is not a friend, but we hung around with same group of people back in our late teens/early 20's. This is horrifying! I've followed this case all long, and to find out I know the mom!

When I was a child people thought I was Asian. My oldest brother was nicknamed China, my next older brother was Japan and I was Korea.

We are 100 percent Irish, LOL.

Bella's coloring was not possible to depict when she was found. Further, the eyes undergo a lot of changes immediately following death, that's why funeral directors use "eye cups". Likely, as posted up thread, petechial hemorrhages were likely obliterated in the few days she was deceased.

The background info looks more like gossip here than sleuthing, IMO

Bella was just shy of 3-years-old when she died, according to posts showing a birthday party on Facebook.

The break in the case came after a search warrant was executed at a Maxwell Street home in Mattapan Thursday, 5 Investigates reported.

Final confirmation of her identity was pending positive identification by the State Medical Examiner.

Relatives identified the girl to NewsCenter 5 as Bella Bond and neighbors confirmed that Bella lived in the Mattapan home.
"She (the mother) tried to be responsible, but she was on drugs," said Yessiomora Torres. "She talked slurred, she’d come out and smoke a cigarette, her daughter would be crying."

The girl's mother and her boyfriend were being questioned in connection with the girl's death. Police have been in contact with family members.

So she is more Hispanic. Looking at her photos, the composite was made to look more Caucasian. Bella was beautiful. I cry looking at her in almost those same kind of leggings in a different color. :facepalm: Our baby will be laid to rest with her name.

YES, to those who have suggested that RB didn't have custody of Bella all the time. It fits with the Facebook feed of less Bella, then Bella all the time. It also explains the OTT (even for Facebook) 'Bella is my whole world and more' stuff as she would have been even more determined than most to portray the 'perfect mummy' image to the world.

It also explains why people believed her when she said that Bella had been taken by child services. They didn't think anything of it, because they knew that Bella had been taken by them before.

To me there she must have had been told she was a bad mom by someone. Moms that tend to over exaggerate small things like that feel they have something to prove. JMO.

Thankful this little girl has her name back.

She is the causality of the drug epidemic and the spotlight needs to put on her. My (adopted) son was so close to having this lifestyle and it is painful to think of that. This poor baby probably never knew how mom would be from one day to the next. I know my son's birthmother loves him and wanted to be his mom but she just couldn't keep it together long enough. The drugs will sooner or later be more important than anything.

A neighbor of the building, Siomy Torres, told the Globe her daughter used to play with the girl.

She added that “the woman’s most recent boyfriend had arrived at around the same time the child disappeared.”

I'm assuming that is Michael McCarthy, the 35-year-old, who is in custody. The pictures of the umm, "man/hubby (KC)" at Christmas are NOT the current boyfriend and he is 37, but he was a real gem to have around in Bella's short life. uke:
