I am pretty sure defense lawyers are doing it for free publicity.

Both of these attorneys are heavy hitters, what is the world are they doing representing two druggies in a murder case??

Right? It was just announced that taxpayers are paying for Justin Ross Harris's lawyers because he was declared indigent, and I think that trial has a much better chance of getting national attention than this one. It baffles me. Maybe they are fine with it just being huge in Boston, or maybe they are just offering their services now when the case is "hot", or maybe they think they have the ability to make the case as big as Anthony or Zimmerman.

Going to put this out there, do the attorneys have anything to do with Occupy Boston?

If she was refrigerated for a month (or more) then there was quite a bit of decomposition. People seem to expect that sketch should look like a photo (and it's not).

That's what I'm thinking too. Thinking back now to what some of the profilers saying there being other children and CPS possibly being involved at some point gives me cold chills. Guess they're just good guessers...

I disagree. I think the forensic facial artist did the best she could with what was left of little Bella. I always thought Baby Grace's forensic portrait was pretty spot on when we finally saw Riley Ann Sawyer. I think this lady got Bella's hair correct. I think the eyebrows should have been darker, but if there were none on the child when she was found then one could not really know. They couldn't even tell us her ethnicity and not that it mattered to any of us. I'm just glad she has her name back. All children deserve that dignity.

There is a picture of Bella that looks much more like the sketch than the picture that they are using as the side by side. I don't think the one that they are using looks anything like the sketch..Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: Here's a link to it. Other than the coloring, I think that the artist was very close. http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/09/19/baby-doe-bella-bond-boyfriend-arrest/

well, this sure isnt a public defender.. this guy is a legend in Massachusetts.. wonder who MM's family is? JMO

Thanks for this. Shapiro is indeed a legend and I would not have even thought to look him up without your tip off.

Here are two different pictures the media is circulating of Michael McCarthy. The cleaner looking picture comes from the press conference the other day. Hard to believe it is the same person, but if you study them, you'll see that ears, lips, chin nose are the same man who has been ravaged by drugs. Who knows what he looked like last week?

What are some of Shapiro's high-profile cases? His website mentions this one:
Among his more famous victories was the decision of the United States Supreme Court reversing the conviction of world boxing champion Muhammad Ali in Clay v. United States, 403 U.S. 698 (1971).

I would think he's already well-established enough in Boston that he wouldn't have to take this case.

Are we confusing him with Robert Shapiro of O.J. Simpson fame?

Maybe. I am just going by what people are saying about him being a legend. When I search for "John Shapiro boston", I don't really get too many relevant articles about his victories.

I don't know why they would need the free publicity, they are both seasoned and well known attorneys. Something else is going on here. IMO

Would you like to add this to your MM info?

“He had something else inside him that looked like light, but it wasn’t,” said Amoroso, describing what Bond conveyed about McCarthy.

MM did have some kind of light in him the glowing flames from himself satan the devil.

Probably! I see him now though. Interesting train of thought Bestill has going with this having something to do with Occupy Boston. Maybe JA knew Bond's lawyer?

My hypothesis...these are high profile atty's for druggies. So is it to protect Occupy Boston or something bigger like the state not doing the proper protection of an innocent toddler?

I hope this case doesn't turn into a right-wing conspiracy...

I doubt if it has a thing to do with Occupy. They were homeless and taking advantage of a situation, I feel. I doubt if they had any philosophical things to contribute,

I bet it was free food and someplace to stay other than a shelter which segregates males and females.

Are the attorneys in some kind of rotation where they provide free services because they are so well established and money is not an issue?

Family money. No way is an attorney like Shapiro on the PD list.
