Well, there you go. The lawyer himself compared it to Caylee Anthony's case.

We don't know the full context of the quote, but the paragraph before it makes it sound like he could be comparing them because he thinks RB could be acquitted.

But, with what appears to be a lack of physical evidence, Shapiro wonders if Bella’s case may play out like another famous trial involving a dead toddler—one where the mother got off.

“This could be like the Caylee Anthony case,” he told The Daily Beast.

DCF to review its cases on Bella Bond

Baker says agency will institute new rules after death

The state Department of Children and Families will review its involvement with the little girl found dead on a Deer Island beach in June and move swiftly to implement a series of recommendations to identify and protect children at risk, Governor Charlie Baker said Sunday.

DCF will “take a good look at the case” and update its risk assessment and intake systems, Baker said while attending an event in South Boston. “Tragedies like this illustrate just how important it is we get this done and get it done quickly.”

Bella Bond, known to the world only as “Baby Doe” until the arrests last week of her mother and her mother’s boyfriend, had been the subject of a DCF investigation twice before — in 2012 and 2013 — following reports of neglect made to the agency. DCF spokeswoman Andrea Grossman said the agency is unable to discuss the details of the case, which was closed over two years ago under the previous administration.

Perhaps in serious cases experienced lawyers are in a roster in Massachusetts and his name came up. The lawyer gets paid by the courts.. not what he would usually get but he does get paid. What would you suggest? Do you think when MM was in the hospital he should have seen a second rate MD? MM is innocent until proven guilty. If you were charged with murder and had no money you would want effective counsel. i dont understand vilifying lawyers, i just dont. Some state bar associations require lawyers to do a certain amount of "public defender" work.. for lack of a better word. MM may really be crazier than a bed bug...he might really need an insanity defense, for example..I have no idea. But to think that even an alleged murderer doesnt deserve competent counsel is like saying he shouldnt get quality medical care either. Lawyers love the law..they think it is their duty to protect and defend..they are often unpopular warriors.. but get in trouble and they are your best friend. If lawyers only took cases from nice guys they would soon have no clients. Sorry, it is part of the job.. just like caring for MM in the hospital would be part of my job. JMO

Anything I write is my opinion only.

Baby Doe is a computer generated image. Which means any kind of earrings can be drawn on it.
At first they released the image without earrings. Then they added the earrings.

But that sort of detail shouldn't be "added" without evidence when the subject is a dead 2-3 year old, piercing is body modification. If the body showed the ears had recently been pierced then photos with and without would make sense, however I doubt if they could tell if it had been recent.

I noticed the pierced ears on the computer mockup right away. Other people might see the image and think it looks like so and so....but notice the piercings and discount it as the same child because that family doesn't pierce the ears of babies.

There is no evidence to suggest that her ears weren't pierced. I'm guessing they were even though she did not wear earrings.
