Toddler's Face Recreated in the Search to ID ‘Baby Doe’
A little girl’s remains were discovered in a plastic bag, late last month, partially decomposed, on a beach in Massachusetts. No one knew who she was.
But through the deft touch of Christi Andrews, a forensic artist for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a human face was created from the unidentifiable remains. And now, as the search for her identity and her guardians continues, the computer-generated image – a mix of artistic finesse and information from the medical examiner – has reached tens of millions of people through the Massachusetts State Police’s Facebook page.
This was no small feat: due to the condition of the body, this job was considered as one “from scratch,” Andrews said.
