If JA is inthe DNA system,he should have come up as a match
Okay. I'm understanding what you are saying. When they ran Baby Doe's DNA, JA would have popped up as a match even if his DNA was in a different state?
The girl’s DNA has already been sent to databases for missing children, but no match has been found.
State Police are hoping that further tests at a lab in Texas can find a match to a close adult relative whose DNA profile may be in a national database.

Baby Bella's accused murderer may want case moved
The attorney representing the man accused of murdering Bella Bond isn’t sure whether his client can get a fair trial in Boston, and said he is mulling the idea of asking the court to move the case elsewhere.
“At some point, I suspect that might be appropriate given the blizzard of activity, which is not likely to die down right away,” said Jonathan Shapiro, who represents murder suspect Michael P. McCarthy, the boyfriend of Bella’s mother, Rachelle D. Bond. “I think the ability to get a fair trial in this venue is in real question.”
....
Oddly enough, the massive media attention paid to the story might actually make it difficult to move the trial elsewhere, according to criminal defense attorneys.
“There is still going to be publicity - even out in Western Massachusetts,” said Phil Tracy, a criminal defense attorney not involved in the case. “You’re not going to accomplish what you’re hoping to accomplish by moving it. You’re not going to avoid pretrial publicity.”
Peter Elikann, a Boston-based criminal defense attorney, agreed.
“Changes of venue are so extremely rare, and there is a high barrier to leap over,” Elikann said. “There could be a problem in this case because it is so highly publicized, everywhere. It’s not just a local story. Where do you go to find a jury that hasn’t heard of this case?”

Also, interesting tidbit in this article about the judge assigned on this case....
Meanwhile, the judge who presided over yesterday’s arraignments has an interesting connection with one of the defendants - he represented the dead toddler’s mother in an unrelated case more than four years ago.
Judge Thomas Kaplanes represented Rachelle Bond, Bella Bond’s mother, in a criminal case back in 2011, according to court documents.
Kaplanes, who was a private criminal defense attorney before taking the bench in 2013, signed off on Rachelle Bond’s guilty plea on a drug-related case, according to court documents. Bond was given one year probation and was told to attend a drug-treatment program as part of the guilty plea.
While there is a potential conflict of interest, there is no need for Kaplanes to recuse himself in this situation. Both McCarthy and Bond will have their cases moved to superior court, and to a new judge, before it can go to trial.
Maybe JA's DNA is already in "the system" somewhere and they have Bella's DNA which was a match to the DNA found in the small hairbrush found at the apartment?
I don't think Bella looks like JA, but I would like to see some of pictures of him with hair. Also, pictures of RB as a child and Bella's siblings would be interesting.
RB seems to be as skittish as a feral cat. Maybe JA's mom knew JA would be the only one who RB would have contact with considering Grandma surely was suspect that Baby Doe was indeed Bella.
On the subject of DNA...I wonder why they did not release info on ethnicity.
That is certainly not hard to determine, if they ran tests and saw that she had a lot of Italian blood that would be important info, it would certainly have a lot of Italians in that area taking note and paying more attention!

Bond and McCarthy have pleaded not guilty to the charges involving Bella and they are due back in court on Oct. 20. McCarthy, whose attorney has said McCarthy didn’t have anything to do with the child’s death, is being held without bail.

If RB is more than just "accessory after the fact," are people thinking she INTENDED to kill Bella? Or, that she killed Bella but not necessarily on purpose?
I'm not getting a feel for what others are thinking her role is. Premeditated? Or as a result of neglect/abuse without the intent of murder?
At the moment, I'm wondering if Bella died while locked in the closet or while otherwise restrained, perhaps "quieted" with a pillow?
IDK. JMO.
