I think that is where Bella was dumped from too.
The Coast Guard's analysis was inconclusive in part because they didn't know the date of origination. Now that they have a date to work with, a follow up might pin it down.

[...]
The reverse drifts were calculated to show where a body dropped into the water might have come from after 24 hours adrift, and after 48 hours, Oldham said. But officials are not sure exactly when the body went into the water, she said, so the results were inconclusive.

It had to be RB's statement to the prosecutor. That's what was said at the hearing. That's why I kept thinking I dreamed I heard duffel bag because I could never find it in any articles.

I'm with BUF though! Something is not adding up at all here! The statement that McCarthy killed Bella and she was an accessory after the fact ~ sounds like she (or somebody) was already talking to attorney.

"Bella's lifeless body, prosecutors say, was put in a plastic bag and stuffed in a refrigerator, where it was left until McCarthy put it in a duffel bag and dumped it into Boston Harbor."

Sad! We may never know how Bella ended up on Deer Island. I don't trust RB! Every time I think about her, I think about MM's ramblings: "a demon with horns and a long lizard tail." This describes RB to a T.

I think JA found out and then they went to the water where she was dumped for a farewell. He never mentioned Bella's things gone and defended her. She was talking to him and that's why she gave the statement of an accessory after the fact. They both have been around that legal merry-go-round too many times.

JA only changed his tune & said she lied after all the negative publicity and wanted to redeem himself somehow. He had enough legal problems himself and didn't want to add to it.

This article says prosecutor says Bond told authorities about duffle bag and weights. Could that have occurred during subsequent interviews after the reporting trooper? The discrepancy has become a splinter in my brain.

The prosecutor said Bond told authorities that McCarthy threatened to kill her if she told anyone what he had done to Bella.
Bond said she allowed McCarthy to get a plastic construction bag and believes McCarthy put Bella's body inside and then put the bag inside a refrigerator, the prosecutor said.

Later, Bond said, McCarthy put the bag containing Bella's body inside a duffel bag and put the duffel bag inside the trunk of his vehicle, Deakin said. He drove the car to the Boston Seaport, added weights to the bag and then dumped the bag into the water, the prosecutor said.

BINGO! I think JA helped RB "add" details to the story to make MM the sole culprit in Bella's death.

Okay! Yes, it came from the subsequent interviews with RB. The weights would have been rocks. I remember that discussion now. They did this at the Boston Seaport, according to RB.

And RB "allowed MM to get a construction bag"???? I think RB got the construction bag and put Bella in it. I can't see MM being very active in "cleaning" up anything.

Yes, she was mostly involved with placing her in the bag, or did it herself...remember the blanket?

Okay, there it is. Thanks. Yes, does sound like details, i.e., the duffel bag, weights, were added "later". Those are pretty important pieces of information to omit from the initial interview. I can see why you've got a splinter.

And maybe part of that fictitious account included a duffel bag and weights. But because she didn't actually witness those things, she forgot to include them in the initial interview. Then, later realized, "Oops, I forgot a couple of my lines." I'm not sure I believe that, but it's plausible.

I could see MM using that term, and possibly researching charges.

He seems to be the only person in this motley crew of players that would be bright enough to research it.

I don't think he would use the term to scare RB though, he would come up with something scarier.

:tyou:

-- July 22: Nearly one month after Baby Doe's body was found on Deer Island, investigators have a DNA profile but didn't match it to any missing children cases.

So am I wrong? Bella has not been identified through DNA?

Thanks. :). I swore I would never follow another child but I can't help myself with this sweet baby girl.

I've said this a few times, I know, sorry! Just because this is RB's story does not make an ounce of it true or factual.
If her story is not adding up it is because it is fabricated lies.

For all we know SHE was injecting heroin into MM and held him captive while she tried to figure out what to do with a dead body. We just don't know.

If we take away her "story" and go on facts and science does her story add up to what actually happened?

"Preliminary results from Bella’s DNA seized from a nasal syringe and a hair brush at the couple’s house indicated a match to “Baby Doe.”

I am sorry but who is "JB"?

I agree! He's bookish and OCD and I think he would research it. Maybe Asperger?? It seems he has no problem getting girlfriends, but I guess he couldn't keep them. He's got something (Money?) that is attracting the women to him.

I think there's a duffle bag - somewhere. LE is sly that way, IMO. But I do think they could not coordinate their lines, so MM stuck to the original story. In his fog that was the easiest way to go.

No, you're correct! See Steleheart's post above and the link. Bella was confirmed with DNA from RB's apartment.

If we take away her "story", there are few facts to back up Rachelle's story. You're right. It's Rachelle's word against MM's word. I don't think little Bella's body revealed much from the autopsy~certainly not a conclusive cause of death. Unless the punching in the stomach was determined and that's a card the prosecution isn't playing yet. It will come out at MM's trial - JMO.
