Do we know where the gathering was that Carol had attended the day she went missing? How far from the Cumberland Farms she used the phone at?

Wish we knew the full content of the phone call made to the roommate. She said a person in a Beige Sedan would give her a ride home. Did the roommate ask any questions about this person..male or female..where they picked her up at ? Were they a guest at the wedding or someone who picked Carol up hitchhiking? So vague...

Exactly -- I also wonder who reported her missing, if it was the roommate, or if she had family in the area.

Carol has 12 ruleouts on Namus. She used the Cumberland Farms payphone to call her roommate to say she would be home at 7pm and was getting a ride home from someone in a Beige Sedan.

It looks like Spencer to Framingham Mass is about a 50 min drive.
4 years later, Simone Ridinger would be hitchiking in Framingham and disappear...

Parts of Framingham were/are not exactly Mayberry. On the other hand, we don't know that Simone didn't make it to Hyannis and someone picking her up in Framingham could be passing through from anywhere.

It was the 70s so hitchhiking was more common, and though still not a great idea, in the big picture far more people survived it than didn't. It just happens that it was more prevalent in certain areas and young people going to the Cape and Islands in the summer months would be a high number.

As for mentioning the beige sedan, I can see it being something innocuous. The roommate on the phone asks who she got a ride from, "is he cute, does he drive a Corvette?!" or even giving her the description so friend can alert a parking lot attendant if they lived in a complex with assigned parking, etc.

Darker scenario is the original driver she was fighting with is still in the vicinity, circles back to 'apologize' and she decides to go back with him.

How far was it from the wedding to where Carol got out and started hitchhiking?
How long was she hitchhiking for before she got to the store payphone? It was summertime, daylight, and a Saturday. Im sure people were out and about, so I wonder if LE even interviewed the store clerk? What about people at the wedding or anyone working the wedding like food servers, DJ, ect?
When Carol told the roommate over the phone that she got a ride with someone in a Beige Sedan, did the roommate ask any questions as to who this was or did Carol give any other details...very vague
