Catherine was in rehab for heroin addiction 3 years ago...

Online plea helps mother afford rehab for daughter
Noting:
  • The article is dated May 13, 2016.
  • CT was 22 at the time and had struggled with prescription drug and heroin addiction for eight years.
  • She began a fundraiser for CT's treatment.
  • “My daughter Catherine needs help,” she wrote. “She is one of many victims to this opiate epidemic. I live in fear every minute of every day that she will be the next to die from this disease. ... She is such a loving and giving person who has simply lost her way. When she was six her dad died of a stroke while she was sitting on his lap. ... This is THE most difficult thing I have encountered in my life.”
  • There are few places to get help on the Vineyard. No detox facility, no residential rehab, no needle exchange program and no methadone clinic.
  • CT went into Gosnold’s detox program and returned home hoping to get into the Vineyard House but was turned down because a sober home is for people who have had more recovery time than a weeklong detox.
  • CT then moved back in with her mother and tried outpatient therapy at New Paths Recovery, a structured treatment program run by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services. Her mother kicked CT out of the home after she did not stick with the program.
  • CT heard about the fundraiser through the grapevine and got herself into Gosnold on Cape Cod’s detox facility in April. At the time the article was written, she was looking for a long-term rehab facility.

I live very close by. Heroin is a huge problem around here and there aren’t any resources on the island for those trying to recover. Come home safe, Catherine!!

I live in Oak Bluffs, her town. We are on an island. The state troopers are at the ferry exits. I do not think kidnapping is possible....and our island has zero murders, no serious crime, .no where to run but in circles. For them to put out an alert is serious, but I do not think it is murder or kidnapping, IMO.
