Anyone know how much longer this trial is expected to last?

I'll second that question as well. I'm anxious to see what comes of this.

Does anyone know if Michelle herself will testify?

Also, what does "BBM" mean? I can't for the life of me figure it out, and Google didn't help!

I listened to the end of todays testimony and the DA asked the judge about other witnesses and I got the impression it is almost over. She talked about tomorrow and maybe closing arguments. I think she said they had no rebuttal.

Basically he said she suffered from serotonin intoxication. It took him all day to rendered that opinion. There were a few comments that were interesting but Judge kept trying to keep him on subject He went into a thousand directions on a single question.

Unless someone heard something I did not hear, not sure it is worth listening 7 hours of testimony.

ETA- the article Safeguard just posted is a good recap.

Really? Really? Well I'll give this "expert" witness credit for being able to say that with a straight face. As a matter of fact this would be a good laugh if some poor young man hadn't died.

Here is my recommendation for sentencing. I would give this Perp two choices; 5 years in prison, or 2.5 years in the state medical facility for diagnostic, and non-invasive clinical studies. It would be beneficial to study this girls mind and neurology extensively, to learn, and perhaps identify these maleficent individuals early on

Second day, this doctor has taken the stand and further humiliates the defense. I am so impressed with the prosecution in this trial, especially in regards to cross-examining this BS and making him look like a fool. The defense had some interesting, compelling moments last week, but the have NOT made their case.

To my knowledge the good "Doctor" has never even examined or interviewed MC. Detailed diagnoses and conclusions are impoossiblle IMMO.

So why on earth are her own doctors and therapists not on the witness stand??

Anyone know the age of this doctor? He has trouble following/answering questions. And why has no one ever told him to speak INTO the microphone? I am having a hard time hearing him.

Re: Dr. Brennan testimony:

It was a bizarre day of testimony from defense witness Dr. Peter Breggin at the start of week two of the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michelle Carter,....

--- frequently sparred with the judge and attorneys, interrupting both the defense and prosecution and had to be quieted by Judge Lawrence Moniz.

But his answers, sometimes drawn out and winding, drew derision in the courtroom.

bio of Dr. Brennan (link available to full resume) http://breggin.com/brief-bio/

1987:
PETER R. BREGGIN, a psychiatrist who is noted for stinging critiques of his own profession, is to appear before the Maryland medical disciplinary board today on charges that he acted irresponsibly when, in a television appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, he seemed to suggest that psychiatric patients should refuse to take medication.

''Take the prescription and go,'' he said. ''Don't fight about it. Don't get in trouble. But go. Don't take the drugs.''

According to Wikipedia, he was cleared of these charges: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Breggin
