David LaJoie, who has dementia, will turn 70 on Monday and looks younger than his years, said his wife, Tena LaJoie. They live on Althea Path, off North Quinsamond Avenue.
David LaJoie likes to walk, and despite dementia brought on by a stroke several years ago he has continued to enjoy his hikes to White City on Route 9 for a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. Sometimes he roams to other places but he has always come home - until now. He went out for a walk around 4 p.m. Saturday, and at about 7 p.m. a neighbor saw him in Worcester, near the Kenwood Diner on Franklin Street, but didn’t know he was missing. He was wearing a bright orange flannel shirt and a black nylon quilted vest, family members said. He had on dark blue jeans and work boots.
