Oh no. I hope she's ok and just took off on her own. That's not a fun place to be for a young person.

Yes a tough place to be - primarily a hospital for those with mental illnesses I believe and police have been searching the grounds this week for what seems to be an unrelated case....but who knows. I'd think they would have good security there.

Many people escaped from there. It is a depressing place, to say the least.

That is a bit strange, them digging there. That's not where the graves are for the people who have passed away and had no where to be buried due to no family claiming them.

There's also elderly people there, too. Years ago, they had a maternity ward and I hear they re-opened the ward for alcoholics and for drug addiction, too.

I hope this young lady is found safe soon. It is cold up here and where I live, we have a snow storm going on right now.

I wasn't aware of the frequent escapes from there. I live in a bordering town and don't hear too much about it, despite being familiar with many of the mental health facilities in the area. Hopefully she is warm and safe somewhere tonight.
And yes - it's probably helpful that LE is already in the area digging.

LOL, I lived down the street from that, er, place. I wouldn't put my dog in there, let's just say.

Yes, there have been a few that have gotten away. Most are found within an hour or so, which makes this very alarming for this poor woman. Especially where she is deaf and non-verbal. I am worried about her. It breaks my heart that someone so young is in there in the first place, but she's not the first person that age in there.

My in laws lived and worked in Tewksbury for a long time and yeah, I got the impression from them that the hospital didn’t have a good reputation. It’s sad to hear that she was talking about harming herself. She must be far from leading the average life of a teen and that’s really rough.

Excellent! Nice to get some good news.
btw, my spouse talked to someone that has had a family member in Tewksbury State Hospital for 10 years (ugh) and they had only good things to say about that facility....sounds like they've made some improvements!
