thanks for the efforts. I do realize a lot of the more popular podcasts do you tend to do some of the more well known cases. That being said I noticed that the trail went cold podcast recently did a two in one podcast of two small local Massachusetts stories, the Deanna Cremens and Melanie Melanson cases. Normally if they don’t haveA lot of information they will do what they call mini episodes. So I hear some of them like doing lesser known cases. Well let me put their feet to the fire little bit and see if they’ll take on Henry’s.

If I were to put a small package together and not overwhelm, if you were to put together a few sources or links which ones might you suggest to get them “hooked?”
I have been trying to reach out to podcasts too. I haven’t gotten any bites, but if any of you have any luck I’d love to be included as I think I could get insider info, Ihave lived here 90% of my life and have married into a fairly prominent swampscott family. My husbands parents were both in high school at the same time as Henry.

I have reached out to robin of the Trail Went Cold. Who knows? Maybe it is on his list of cases to do

I think Henry's case would be a great fit for his podcast. And I think he would do an excellent job with it

I think this is a person of some influence now who still has control over people and continues to threaten/intimidate people in his day to day life. If he's married, the wife has likely seen his temper many times -definitely verbally abusive and maybe physically as well. No great revelation s here...just something to get classmates and locals thinking.

Why do you think he is a person of influence?

I feel the killer may be a blue collar, working class type of guy. Likely has had a history of drug and or alcohol abuse.

That is just speculation of course.

I agree... family members of the killer have definitely seen his temper

I just have a feeling this person has something over people or can make their lives miserable. Maybe some position in government, municipality, etc. I agree that the killer likely has some drug or alcohol issue and that close family have seen the anger/rage, but he has concealed it well enough from others to get through life without too many issues.

It's possible. They might have the kind of influence that would cause local LE to write them off as a suspect. Not deliberately, but perhaps they would be dismissed because of some family or other status in the community.

Has anyone confirmed that KM ever attended swampscott high

  • #147
It looks like there was a KM who graduated from Swampscott High School in 1974, who is a different person than the one who graduated in Salem in 1978. KM from Salem is the one who was involved in the domestic violence incident

Yes, I discovered that, too. The classmate is someone different, not the same age, looks different. I'm not sure the KM initials are relevant.

Any chatter going on here? It's been a while since anyone posted. In a few weeks, it's going to be 45 years since Henry was murdered...

Im assuming his brother's were cleared of any involvement?

Sending this out in memory of Henry on the day he was taken way too young...

As always, since I read of his case, I think of Henry and his family at this time of year. They are in my prayers and I hope they will find justice for him. It really sounds like more information is coming out or at least being discussed again.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the "km" spoken about earlier in this thread ever attended swampscott high?

Interesting comments in the first article. Nothing to point a finger at the killer, but some good background information from kids (now adults) who used to hang out at SV and remember Henry and his murder.

One person who commented said the 31 bat was one used by little league baseball teams, suggesting it could have been a bat someone took from a team's supply. It was a fairly new bat, IIRC, as it was a Hank Aaron one.

It appears that the Roman numeral VI — or perhaps a letter K and some other lines, depending on how you look at it — was carved into the end of the bat. The bat also carries a “1,” a marking indicating it is a 31-inch bat.

Police said the area where Bedard was killed, near the hill overlooking the DPW, was a popular hangout spot for kids in the 1970s.

“It is possible he was going there to meet someone,” Swampscott police wrote. "The murderer(s) could have been someone he knew or a random act of violence.”

Swampscott police said anyone who may have information about Bedard’s murder or the baseball bat that was found at the crime scene should call Detective Sergeant Jay Locke at 781-595-1111 or send an e-mail to [email protected] and Massachusetts State Police Detective Anthony LoPilato at [email protected].
