I had the same thought. Any other cases involving missing women in or around Lynn should probably be looked into to see if he is somehow connected.

You get the sense this guy gets around, with a van decorated like a bedroom, according to Jaimee Mendez's dad, who confronted him, that went poof the next time the inside of the van was seen. So, he puts it together and takes the setup apart. I think he may travel, but being a fisherman he may like to stick to coasts. Who knows?

Another recent article regarding the search and who is in charge. Note the comments under the article as it seems we are not the only ones wondering why LE is not naming a POI. It seems ALL information that is being funneled through MSM is coming from the family. Sorry for asking but did we have a link up thread regarding the RSO being interviewed multiple times over the weekend coming from LE?

Thanks FindHG! Where did you get the location of where she called from? I had not seen that information published. Some places to possibly add: She lives in Swampscott and she was last seen at the Rite Aid in Lynn, MA at around 5:00 pm on Thursday. (LE have video confirmation of her being at Rite Aid.)

Thanks! There's 3 Rite Aids but I think I recall hearing it was at the Boston Markets one, please let me know. So, starting at the right of the Y, her hometown, Swampscott, then where she called from on Laurel, then the Rite Aid (on video) in Lynn, then the CVS that's about 1500 ft from his house, and also where her mom found her shoes and the piece of cut out rug in the dumpster, then where LE found her cell phone and other items, in Salem.

Hi SDSHELPS!! Good to see you on Jaimee's case. I've just been learning of her circumstances. Very frightening. This case is about an hour south of me here in Maine. Her poor Dad discovering the bed setup in his van....and Mom keeping vigil at his house. Heartbreaking, but I have hope they will nail this guy because he has made some foolish mistakes, like putting her shoes in a dumpster so close to his house. Trying to be patient until LE or MSM names him.

Yep! It would be interesting to find which port and boat he fishes from, just to see if anyone on the docks recalls any activity regarding this RSO being there after Jaimee went missing.

It does sound like all the information being reported has come from the family. This article http://www.myfoxboston.com/story/27338134/police-search-for-missing-woman says that "... police are not releasing the name of a suspect, but FOX 25 has learned that one man being questioned was brought in 3 separate times by police." It does not say where that information came from.

Alyssa Mendez said her father spoke with the sex offender this weekend, but he denied Jaimee Mendez was with him.

According to Alyssa Mendez, the sex offender lives mostly in a van. This Saturday, she said, her family saw the interior of the vehicle and noticed that it was carpeted. They saw the vehicle Sunday and the carpet had been removed, Alyssa Mendez said.

It wasn’t clear whether the van was the same van that police removed from the Spring Road area.

So far as best I can tell the rumor alert from the Find Jaimee Mendez https://www.facebook.com/findjaimeemendez page is just that a rumor. The People.com article with comments doesn't really say anything new.

This is the most recent MSM article and video (I couldn't watch ?) and at least one reporter we can follow for pictures, etc. through Twitter. Please feel free to add reputable reporters Twitter accounts so we have more of the reports from "on scene" rather than FB. Sorry I'm not familiar with the stations and reporters back east.

Tuesday morning a van that belonged to the man was towed from outside his house.
Tuesday a dumpster near where the man lived was also searched by authorities.

Jaimee's sisters FB page states that her body was not found. Police must have a warrant or the man last seen with her is being unusually cooperative. Any word whether or not they have him in custody?

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Swampscott Police Department at 781-595-1111. The family is also asking for anyone with tracking experience or who is familiar with the area to aid in the search.

I assume that they are hoping to find people who are familiar in and around Lynn to help out. If this the owner of the Dodge Caravan is a commercial fisherman, he crews for someone I think because I cant see him owning a boat but virtually living in a car. A small number of police officers on Tuesday afternoon searched the Spring Road neighborhood in Lynn where the sex offender is listed in state records as living. Police were not seen entering the house but did search inside at least one garage owned by a neighbor. Police also briefly searched in a dumpster positioned near the Spring Road home.

They were in the area for about two hours, eventually towing away a minivan.

IMO - It sounds like he is living in his van but the address in question is the one that he used to register as a sex offender. If that's the case they could pick him up on that fact alone. I wonder if LE are waiting to arrest him because they are hoping he leads them to Jaimee.

Did you guys use Google Earth to take a peak at Technology Way in Salem? According to the FB, LE asked that the searchers steer clear of it. At the end of the street is a dead end, but I believe the building to the left has exterior cameras.
