Found Deceased MA - Jaimee Mendez, 25, Swampscott, 6 Nov 2014 - #1 *Arrest*

How utterly sad. Thinking he's a drug fueled meth head. And in trying to remain hopeful but it doesn't sound good for poor Jaimee.

TY for the maps. One of the aspects of the story that stands out for me was that by Friday, IIRC, sister of Jaimee had all ready spoken to Fleury. She reported seeing scratches on hands and face, she had looked in the van. They knew who he was with because of the text messages to her friends. Family had their eye on this guy very quickly. They filed on Saturday, it seems likely, because they thought they could find her themselves perhaps?

I am curious as to whether or not she was inside of a pharmacy and she picked up any of her medication. If not, she wasnt feeling well pretty quickly I would think. I mean, if things got out of hand for Mr Fleury and she died or slipped into a coma due to her diabetes, it is best for him to share that now and bring her home on his own before it gets much worse for him. KWIM?

There would be hope in that, but everything about him, that I know so far, the sense I get is that he will do not a thing to help. He's been the way he is and gotten off for it for too long. Now all he has left rides on riding this out. I remember the same information too, about the family on his case as soon as they knew. So he had all day Friday maybe?

“I just want my kid’s body found — I know she’s dead,” a heartbroken Michelle Mendez told the Herald last night. Her daughter, Jaimee Mendez, has been missing since Thursday night.“She’s diabetic. She wouldn’t be gone one day from her son. She can’t go a day without insulin,” her mother said.

State police detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office and officers of the Swampscott, Salem and Lynn police departments continued to scour the North Shore for Mendez late into the night last night. “Law enforcement officials are using NEMLEC canine units, MSP Airwing and other assets to search for Ms. Mendez in various locations in Salem, Lynn and Swampscott,” Essex DA’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Kimball Monahan said in a statement.

Resident Sarah Bullock said two unmarked police cars and a marked Lynn police cruiser were in the neighborhood yesterday afternoon when an older-model blue minivan with Virginia plates was towed away.

Investigators also searched a trash bin, Bullock said. Another similar older-model van with Virginia plates was also towed from the same neighborhood property Sunday, Bullock said.

Looking for the photo on #1 from yesterday, it was being pulled from the dead end.

One of the things to consider for today's search is access points to the park-are there areas where you can pull off the road and avoid the parking lots? Are there sections of trails that someone could drive in a non 4 wheel drive vehicle to get further back into the woods? Are there abandoned buildings, caves that are off trail but close by...kwim? What kind of security/surveillance is there and how is the park secured at night? Could a van be parked there for a day or two unnoticed?

The police have the CCTV footage from the CVS and an employee remembered seeing Jaimee. Her mother is sure that Jaimee did not have her medications with her, so they probably know that she did not pick up any of her medication while in the store.

Has anybody seen anything about the POI's location? Is he hiding? The family said they talked to him on Friday and that the police interviewed him three times. So he must have been around town those first few days. Did he disappear after the police questioned him? could he already be in custody? Or on his way to Virginia?

The police have the CCTV footage from the CVS and an employee remembered seeing Jaimee. Her mother is sure that Jaimee did not have her medications with her, so they probably know that she did not pick up any of her medication while in the store.

Very strange. This woman who is known to hang with both Jaimee and the RSO, goes missing at the same time. Ends up in a hospital, and cannot remember anything? Thoughts?

I do believe drugs are a factor.

I don't get the impression that the other woman has anything to do with Jaimee's disappearance. She went "missing" on Oct 30, so I don't think she was with Jaimee and the RSO last week, when Jaimee went missing. From reports that I've seen the three of them were seen together at McDonald's a few times in the past and at a local meth clinic. The police should be able to verify when she was admitted to the hospital.
