Jovann Vergara alternate spelling of name as Jovan. Age 21 when he went missing. His family has not seen him since December 9th 2019. His mother reported him missing Thursday night (Dec 12th 2019) after reportedly being told she had to wait due to his age.
Jovann, a.k.a. 'Goldo' does suffer from type I diabetes and did not have any Insulin with him, which is required daily. His mother reported that Jovann was on his way to her home, from his step father's home, and never arrived. He is known to frequent the North End/Plainfield Street area. Jovann was last seen in the area of Franklin Street in Springfield Massachusettes. He has not been seen or heard from since. Jovann's mother Marie has been a firm supporter of her son and in trying to located him. She reportedly got very little media attention on his case and little initial help from Law Enforcement. Many groups have tried to help now, but Jovann is still missing. One terrible stroke of luck was in the police not taking the Missing report initially - allowed many days to pass with no one checking web cams and videos of the area. Most had been recorded over by the time investigation took off.

A mother in Springfield continues a relentless pursuit to find her son after he vanished without a trace in December 2019.

“I just really scream out loud to please help me find my son,” said Maria Rivera, mother of Jovann Vergara.

Rivera is still desperately searching for answers on the whereabouts of her son, Jovann Vergara. He has been missing for more than three years now. Western Mass News has been following her efforts over the years, her countless searches, handing out fliers, anything she can think of to find Vergara. She told us she is trying to remain hopeful that he will return, but at this point, she doesn’t know what more she can do.

“I’ve done NamUs. I also um, gave my DMA to NamUs. I did podcasts, I did radio stations. It’s like what haven’t I done and still no answer…and still no answer. Like me, myself, devastated. It’s something that you never go through, so you don’t know what to do,” Rivera added.
