A doctor from Dover, Massachusetts, accused of killing his wife five years ago was found guilty Thursday of voluntary manslaughter.

They were drinking one night in the spring of 2020 and Tuerk said she hit him in the head with a glass. He said that's when he strangled her.

"I kind of blacked out," he said on the stand.

Defendant Tuerk will be sentenced on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 pm ET.

Breaking: jury finds a Dover surgeon guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the 2020 strangulation death of his wife Kathleen. Ingolf Tuerk, 63, will be sentenced in May. His attorney Kevin Reddington says the jury did a good job and he’s pleased with the verdict.

Need to correct my post: Tuerk convicted of voluntary manslaughter will be sentenced (has been sentenced) May 16, 2025. Once someone is convicted; they are no longer a defendant according to law. jmo 😎
