Circumstances of Disappearance Oliveras was last seen at the Platinum Plus Club in Portland. A resident of the Hyde Park section of Boston, he traveled to Maine two days before by bus to visit a friend who worked at the club. He was scheduled to return that day to the home he shared with his mother and younger brother. Just before he went missing, he was seen in the club's parking lot with an unidentified man.

FBI offers $10K reward in case of missing man last seen in Maine

Miguel Oliveras, a resident of Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood, was last spotted outside a Portland gentleman's club in September 2006.

Police have said Oliveras came to Portland to visit his ex-girlfriend, who worked at the Platinum Plus Club. She reportedly sent him bus money and asked him to come. According to police, Oliveras left the club without incident when he was asked to leave.

The FBI announced it is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Oliveras.

During the news conference, Maine's Total Coverage reporter Jim Keithley asked if Oliveras' ex-girlfriend has been cooperative in the investigation, but authorities declined to comment on that matter.

One detective did state that investigators have a working theory about what happened, but they do not want to share it with the public at this time.

"I miss him. I just want to bring him home. That was my best friend, my son," Gonzalez said. "I know someone knows something. I just want someone to come forward."

Police said Oliveras, 24, was last seen at 1 a.m. on Sept. 2, 2006, outside the former Platinum Plus strip club on Riverside Street in Portland.

Gonzalez said she believes her son, whom family and friends called Mickey, was lured there.

"I honestly think that my son was set up. That's why the female sent for him," Gonzalez said.

Miguel Oliveras, 24, was last seen in Portland, Maine, on Sept. 2, 2006, before he disappeared.

The investigation revealed Oliveras came to visit a woman he knew who worked at the strip club. Gonzalez said the woman sent her son bus money and asked him to come. Gonzalez said the woman picked him up at the bus station and the two went to the club.
