These men are from my town, and the disappearance is very odd. The apartments they are missing from are in a fine area of Medford, and relatively expensive. It’s not clear if they are friends, roommates or partners. Not that it matters except understanding the relationship for getting ideas about them missing.
They are linked together as relatives on a website I subscribe too, but could be a mistake because they live together.

Lots of information provided within the press conference. A sad state of affairs that at least one was murdered after helping the alleged murderer.

From the article:

Late Friday night, police investigated a storage unit in Brighton that had been rented using the victim's names, police said.

Authorities say they found the bodies inside rubber storage bins in the unit and one of the bodies had been dismembered.

Bleach, rubber gloves and items belonging to Schukin were also found there, according to authorities.

A man identified as Leonid Volkov, 37, of Medford, who was known to the victims, was arrested without incident in North Attleboro on Saturday and charged with murder.

Police say Schukin had been a guarantor on the lease for the apartment of Volkov in Medford but declined to keep being the guarantor for a lease extension, which resulted in Volkov being evicted from his apartment.

Sad. As I was making the thread, I knew they would be found dead. I assumed they were partners. I’m very curious about the suspect. I want details. Oh crap. I’m reading the new posts. Oh my God!

How awful!

I’m grateful that their friends reported them missing as otherwise this may have gone unnoticed for some time.

How sad, curious if Volkov recently came to the US and Schukin was helping him get set up here? How long did they know each other?

[...]

Investigators said Volkov and Schukin met in a rented U-Haul truck, which Volkov was driving on March 29. Volkov was allegedly seen entering and leaving the victims’ building after the last time they were seen.

The U-Haul was found at the storage facility. Prosecutors allege that Volkov was using the truck to bring items from the victims’ Locust Street apartment to the storage unit.

“We believe at this point he was transporting any number of items,” said Ryan. “With specificity of whether that includes the bodies or body parts, we are not prepared to answer that,” said Ryan.

Volkov was arrested in North Attleboro Saturday night and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Somerville District Court.

Interesting, do LE know where the crime scene was? I would think that killing and dismembering two grown men in an apartment would be a bit messy but maybe he was just stealing things. I also wonder if Volkov was the one that moved the victims vehicle. MOO

speculation.. maybe he was moving their stuff into the storage unit and mistakenly thought no one would notice they were gone for longer. that the landlord would eventually think they just moved out.

2 new bits of info:

Prosecutors also allege Volkov stole several items from the victims' home and used their credit cards to go on a shopping spree.

Investigators learned that Schukin had been a guarantor on the lease for Volkov's apartment in Medford, where he lived with his wife and two children. Schukin, however, had recently declined to be the guarantor on the lease extension, which resulted in the family being evicted from that apartment, according to the district attorney.

I figured he was helping himself to their things. I'm surprised about the cc shopping spree though, kind of a dumb thing to do if you are trying to get away with murder.

criminals are often lazy and dumb.

This is so sad - revenge killing x2, to what end?... man's inhumanity to man, on full display. Again.

So sad for those who knew and loved these men.
