The jury is dismissed for a morning break. The defense team is smiling. They seem pleased with Wolfe's testimony. Wolfe approaches Jackson who says he can't talk with him.

Wolfe says in pedestrian collisions, there is often damage to the bumper. He saw small scratches on the bumper but not enough to be consistent with a pedestrian impact.

Wolfe says he and Rentschler did testing involving a drinking glass. Says they wanted to see if the glass was thrown at the taillight. They built an air cannon. "Yeah, it was pretty awesome," Wolfe says.

Wolfe says they did two tests: one with the glass flying at 31mph and the other at 37mph. Says the second test did damage to the taillight consistent with the damage to Read's taillight.

Wolfe says they did not test the prosecution's theory in which the taillight was broken by O'Keefe's arm while holding the glass.
Yes I heard all that.

It painful watching Trooper Paul...he just kept repeating the words Jackson was asking.
Yep! And lest we forget how Trooper Paul said ~~~~the crime scene spoke to him.
(insert eye roll)

Karen is proven innocent at this point. The science proves it.

WOLFE KNOWS WHERE THE CENTER OF MASS IS!
What on earth doesn't he know? Well actually he probably knows a boat load about the physical properties of outer space as well

That one concerns me. 'injuries consistent with the damage on Reids car" that will stick with the jurors.
Do you think the glass was thrown? I'm just trying to understand what you mean. Wolfe did go on to say the injuries to JO's arm were inconsistent with being struck by a vehicle. jmo.

Lally begins cross examination of Wolfe. Notes that the ARCCA team issued its report in Feb 2024 and that new info might have surfaced since.

We’re back, Lally already warned to keep his voice up by the judge.
Lally asking about the disclaimer in the report that the analysis is only based on the information they were provided.
Now reviewing what they were provided.
There is no info about OKeefe’s hat or shoe?
-correct

"No, I would not expect the shoe to come off," Wolfe says of an impact to the arm of a pedestrian. But agrees that in a general sense, shoes can come off in pedestrian collisions.

@FallRiverReport

Lally: how many times have you been to a scene where there is a body on scene.
Wolf: not nearly as often as the times where the scene has been cleared by the time we get there.

Just a side personal note, I can't believe, at this point in the trial, we are still even mentioning the drinking straw.

Based on any of the materials that you were provided, are you aware that Mr OKeefe was on video exiting a bar holding a cocktail glass?
Wolf: not aware
Lally is looking through his notes.

A very interesting point. So what we have here is...

Wolfe said if it's the arm being hit, he would expect shoes to stay on. If it's a full-body hit, then it is likely the shoes will come off. Wolfe testified earlier that he expected more damage to the car/near tail light if it was involved in a collision, he also testified that the damage to JO's arm was not consistent with being hit. So what's the situation with JO's shoes?! jmo.

Waiting for Lally to ask Crash Daddy aka Wolfe if he has a subscription to the Boston Globe.

omg drinking glass thrown at the tail light!
I literally yelped!! I’ve not seen that suggested anywhere else but it seems so obviously plausible — not just evidence-wise but in the context of the dynamics that seemed to be going on that night.
