Lally's story so far is a repeat of Jen McCabe's story....go figure.

Had to skim the thread to catch up so may have missed this, why did the defense go first?

As Lally says Proctor’s texts were offensive, they didn’t impact the case, it was his personal phone, never expected to be public, were a “safe space”.One female juror took a deep breath in and exhaled thru her mouth.

Lally is displaying an image on the screen with a chart of Read & OKeefe’s texts.All the jurors are looking at the screen.Lally is reading the texts.

Lally continues the timeline on the screen to detail the 7 drinks he says she had. Jurors are splitting their attention between the screen & Lally.

The expressive juror who fidgets is now fidgeting. Playing with her necklace, looking around the room. One juror just yawned.I thought they’d get a recess between closings.
The irony of using the term "safe space" when talking about disgustingly abusive and misogynistic behaviour. Ok Lally.

That's pretty unprofessional and rude.
IMO.
yeah I've found him to be quite rude and angry with a menancing vibe during this trial but as I mentioned on previous thread I can't stand him so I may be making too much of his demeanour.

It's now up to the jury to deliver the correct verdict.

I think it would have looked a little odd if he turned his chair around to see him. Maybe they should have arranged the courtroom differently so everyone could see each other without having to turn around....it's an odd setup fora courtroom (IMO).

Lally is now using a laser pointer to show on the screen where Karen’s car was.He turns his back to the jurors for a bit ad he does this.

The juror who was not making eye contact with Jackson is paying attention,Lally plays one of the voicemails.Karen’s screaming voice “John I f-ing hate you” fills the room. It actually made me jump.

Lally is playing the voicemails. As one plays - when Karen threatens to go to Mansfield- the younger juror is looking down.

The juror who I’ve described as easy to laugh and chat during sidebar breaks, had a very serious and heavy brow during Jackson’s close and it has continued to grow during Lally’s. He is almost squinting now.

by now it must be hard to hear Lally again. I think a stretch break between closings would have been really important. Just cruising right into the next one I don't think was right.

Because they're trying to find somebody and looking for support?
Well according to Karen she dropped John off at a friend's house so why panic so quick? She hadn't even left the house and she's freaking out. He's not home...big deal. He's sleeping off the booze at his buddie's house. Why panic to the point of waking up the niece and call other people including your parents. These aren't 20 year olds. You can try and convince me it is rational behavior but I don't buy it.

Read is not looking at the timeline being shown to the jury. Instead, she is writing a note that she then passes to Jackson.

The jurors are all looking at the timeline on the screen. A couple are leaning forward. One has to lean to the side to see around Lally.

Lally is now showing what he says was the Read's SUV's route to 34 Fairview Road.

Lally shows more of the timeline and starts playing the voicemail messages she left.

More of Lally's timeline:

Lally says Read was the first to spot O'Keefe in the snow because he says she'd already gone back to the scene that morning.

Jurors seem to have the same expressions as during Jackson's closing argument. The juror with his head down earlier is doing the same now.

Lally is changing times of when events happened, compared to what he said earlier. He's contradicting himself in his own closing argument. It seems unreal.

Because he has kids at home and had NEVER not come home before since having children. So I'd say that's a pretty big deal. <modsnip - personalizing> they aren't even her kids, so I think her concern was pretty real and apparent. <modsnip - personalizing> That's the beauty of an opinion. JMO

@TedDanielnews

AL: "there no movement of JO’s phone from 12:25am until.. sometime after 6 in the morning". Lally says Lexus data shows "the vehicle travels in reverse at 24.2 mph" He plays vm where KR says "John, I f*cking hate you"

AL: "she had driven there, struck him there, and left him to die there"AL is going through a timeline and playing KR's voicemails to JO in that order.

AL says KR doesn't call 911 as JO is “laying freezing from a skull fracture at 34 Fairview Rd”He says KR "knew exactly where he was" because he says she returned to 34 Fairview in the 5am hour and left

AL: defendant shows up at the house… left with a bag of her belongings… in the height of a blizzard… drove… all the way down to her parents house in Dighton

Rational? Maybe not, but we don't know what her baseline is as it relates to anxiety. Maybe she always freaks out about stuff like this. And she was intoxicated.

Now suddenly in closing he's saying she went back to the house so knew where the body was? Where was all that evidence in the last month? Must have replaced his "she deleted Ring footage" lie with this new one.

and the jurors expected to remember it all.. egregious.. i would need to be taking nots for closing, its a summary , is it not?

@SueNBCBoston

As Lally is talking about Karen’s behavior, at the house after the hospital, not seeing the kids again, all but one juror is paying attention.
