The list is mind blowing. I hope all actually testify. I am sure some are terrified.

The "sucker punching" of other cops that Yanetti referenced in court today - several of these cops are on the defense's current list. I'd like to know more about why didn't testify the first time, but maybe they became more cooperative after the last trial? I'd expect the CW to vigorously oppose such testimony being allowed.

Perhaps they were introducted at some point during his testimony, but I cannot recall seeing any contextual photos of the taillight found at the scene. Just closeups with no or very limited frames of reference.

The jury couldn't have the SERT report because, remarkably, one was never completed.https://www.courttv.com/title/karen-read-trial-jury-sees-photos-of-taillight-found-at-scene/
Karen Read Trial: Jury Sees Photos of Taillight Found at Scene

This is O'Hara's testimony about the afternoon/evening Jan. 29 search. There are a series of photos of each piece of evidence, in situ. Five tail light pieces, one sneaker. The photos, projected on the courtroom screen, begin at some distance to give some perspective of where they were found, and then proceed to close ups. O'Hara testifies to the context in which they were found. The GPS mapping of the located pieces is also screen projected and testified to.

The jury didn't get a written report on the search, but they would have had exhibits memorializing what was projected to them on the screen during O'Hara's testimony.

No, this was not introduced in the last trial. But as a local, I was surprised it wasn't.

Related, on the defense's witness list last time was a fellow named Tom Beatty and his teen (at the time) daughter Erin. For some reason, the defense did not call them, but I see them back on the list for this trial. They have an interesting story to tell and I hope we get to hear it from them this time around.

Here's the current witness list. Karen Read defense team files list of prospective witnesses ahead of retrial
I wonder why the defense would be calling Proctor’s wife and JOK’s father.

Perhaps also because Brian Albert has retired so they no longer have to worry about retaliation. MOO

She seemed heartbroken over it, but she knows it would have been a massive appealable issue if she'd allowed it.
you know what is her #1 criteria on all these motions...will it delay the trial. That motion about allowing the texts would definitely have delayed the trial. She wants this trial on the move April 1.

Not sure about Proctor's wife, but JOK's father was on the list the last time and never called. He stopped coming to court at some point during the last trial. Poor man was the image of heartbreak.

Notice JOK's brother and mother never sit together in court, and in fact stay as far away as they can from each other while staying in the front row. Methinks there is some major dysfunction going on.

I’m literally shocked the HONORABLE Judge Bev Cannone ruled for the defense.
any other ruling would result in trial delay....she will rule on the remaining motions and #1 concern is no delays

I have seen the best of families destroyed by tragedy.
I think it’s heartbreaking.

Link to no SERT report was ever made please

"And the SERT return -- the return from the search warrant itself that police have to file in court -- was not part of the evidence the commonwealth offered or that the defendant offered.

"Of course, the rub here is there is no SERT report," she added. "There might be one, but it was not introduced into evidence.

Exactly, just because it was not entered, doesn’t mean there wasn’t one 👍

They never expected "the girl" to put up a fight, IMO.

As a Norfolk County resident this is so scary to me. How many times have they put away innocent people because those people had no financial means to fight back?
Heck no, --and especially not one with a 'weird Fall River accent.'

It is though he immediately was ON her as guilty and ran with all his insults and then some as we later found out, along with being fired for all of that 'then some'. Yes, it seemed to be the case in the VERY, VERY beginning with JMc saying she said KR hit him, per KR, all of that, but NEVER should of he responded to any of them in any manner, just go in to the home of Albert, see what he knows, saw, INVESTIGATE as he was supposed to but did not.

I do wonder what he'd be able to say in support of the defense. And I would think that Proctor's wife would have nothing to say to support the defense's position.
MOO

Aside, but I am seeing along the bottom a list of all social media sites to share what we are writing, reddit, fb and twitter... so on .

She would only try to defend his actions as she has already I would think. The questions they ask will be interesting to hear.

I'm just waiting for her to testify that she parked her car at Harvard Yard...

After all the hours spent this month to requalify expert witnesses who previously testified in the first trial -- I can't believe BC failed to grant a hearing on the Motion to Dismiss over 'extraordinary misconduct' and went for straight denial of the Motion. For example, the CW's handling of the sallyport videos and potential instructions to the jurors really needed to be ironed out in advance of trial as I don't trust this Court will give this matter the proper time and attention it requires! MOO

In tonight's Canton Confidential with Michael Coyne, legal analyst for Boston News 10, I learned that the 5 part docuseries 'Body in the Snow' began recording during the first trial. Also, to the comment that Jackson and Reed reached out to the producer through an intermediary, there is no Son of Sam law in MA so KR is not prevented from being paid to sell her story. MA views this as a First Amendment right to free speech.
