I also agree with the appellate decision as the remedy was in the district court at the discretion of the Judge. Personally, I don't think either side pushed for polling of the jurors before they were dismissed because neither wanted to hear how close they were to guilty or an acquittal! JMO

Exactly! I remember you and I discussed this at the time.

I get why they are grandstanding about it when it turned out it was probably good for them, but the D knows full well this is not a thing.

But what we do know about the deliberations is not all great for the D IMO. I think they had a sense for that. coulda, shoulda etc. They managed their risk.

Either way the HONORABLE Bev Cannone could have done a better job of jury instructions if she wasn’t so worried about carrying the CW’s water. JMO

it is not about "poor innocent Karen Read" for me the CW just did not prove the case...defense raised enough reasonable doubt for me to vote note guilty. When you just take away the circus of this case and look at the actual evidence it was not there.

Stay tuned - I have yet to hear a legal pundit predict she will be acquitted. Attorney Wendy Murphy from Boston is of the opinion that Read will be convicted and maybe even make a plea deal.

For me it is not about conspiracy. This is about our justice system plain and simple. This is about all of our right to a fair and balanced trial. This is about our right to have a true, fair, and balanced investigation during a criminal case. This is about the law and our constitution. This is about a prosecution that over-charged, and a prosecution that is seemingly on a witch hunt rather than truly being about justice for JOK. This is about people who rigged the system and a judge that is allowing them to get away with it. We should all be afraid! (At least those that live in MA)

The only people who deleted texts, deleted internet searches, deleted video, manipulated video, tampered with evidence, made multiple butt dials, hid inside their house, went to work on their day off, destroyed their cell phones and sim cards, lied on the stand, lied to the police, went to rehab, tore their basement up, threw away the carpeting from their basement, sold their house for week below market value, had bruised knuckles, had their arm in a sling after JOK's death, re-homed their dog, and about 100 other shady things were NOT named Karen Read. How anyone can be OK with this is beyond my comprehension and makes me question reality.

Exactly. These are things we know, not what we do not know. We do know they are not named Karen Read. We do know John O'K was left alone to wait for an ambulance while a first responder was right in the house whose lawn he was on. Waited, left to wait by J.Mc mind you in her call about a man on the lawn, her friend she said she loved, in court. She did not run up to house and in and get him, why? Exactly, why? They knew.

No, proctor, fired state trooper, friend and lead investigator did not go in and investigate a thing, but, hence he is no longer. No CPD officers went in nor questioned anyone about JOK as professionals doing their job no matter what their friend said to them, that someone else said, JOK's gf who was clearly hysterical. Again, the audit and investigation from outside starts very soon of the CPD due to this. That will be telling, plus, the trial continues with a lot of very interesting witnesses called. Edge of seat to watch as it happens or on vid if unavailable during trial live time.
