VERDICT WATCH MA - Professor Karen Read, 43, charged with murdering police officer boyfriend John O'Keefe by hitting him with car, Canton, 14 Apr 2023 #35 Retrial

There may be a few jurors that cannot get by their “ intuition” or emotion so perhaps a mistrial hung jury.
I do think Hank Brennan was appealing to those jurors who "think" with their emotions. Playing on their emotions with all those clips of Karen Read, and in the end, with John's handsome face smiling back at them. A prosecution based on pure emotion and limited evidence.

I don't know how much force it would take... the full on body hit at 29mph backwards didn't do it... and the defense didn't have unlimited funds to keep going.

The diffusers not breaking is a big thing. I knew it as soon as Dr. Wolfe said it. There is a reason that Wolfe and Rentschler were 100% convinced he was not hit by a vehicle.
It also perplexes me how people want to believe ARCCA is biased towards Karen. ARCCA had formed their opinion without knowing the woman existed.

Seriously, what would the back of a human head look like after impacting with a tail light with enough force to smash it into 47 pieces and destroy the diffusers? 1) the skull would be indented, which was not the case here, we know that from all the medicos 2) massive skull trauma, crushing, blood, broken neck. IMO
Not to mention, how would his head get close to the taillight without the bumper hitting his legs and other parts of his body first? Was he leaning his head backwards? After the SUV hit his head with the taillight, what happened to the rest of his body? Was his head levitating all by itself so that his body wasn't attached. The positioning just wouldn't work for that.

Totally agree. His whole case ultimately relies on tapping into any existing prejudice/bias then emotionally manipulating those who might be vulnerable. Because the actual evidence, which is the Whiffen timeline and burgess data, is not anywhere close to adequate to infer guilt BARD to the highest degree of moral certainty. It just isn't, but an emotionally manipulated juror might believe it is. Jmo

ohhh but Signal * EYEEEEEEEEEEEE ROLL*

Their initial testing was as independent as it gets, never have I heard any expert witness testimony like we heard in the 1st trial, EVER!

Ham sandwich is the best that Brennan could come up with to discredit Rentschler? Hos embarrasing.

IMO

And if the diffusers are all smashed, how was there any light at all from that tail light in the videos?

Massive point made by Jackson regarding this today. The video proves the diffusers were working just fine as she drove away from One Meadows. And yet, after Michael Proctor gets his sweaty palms on the Lexus, they are smashed to hell.

That was Hanks only play.
The jury hopefully has a strong personality - one who can be chameleon/ appeal to all, build a consensus and pull everyone together.
For logic.
I think that’s a tall order in this day and age.
I hope it isn’t but.. reality. JMO.

I understand I am in the minority here. I'm sure you will all get your wish of a not guilty verdict. And if that's the case, then I'll settle for the fact that KR at least has had to sit in a courtroom and go through the process. And perhaps the next guy she sets her sights on will have seen or read <modsnip> and steer clear of her.
Not really JMO

The microscopic shards of taillight:

How realistic is it on a scale of zero to PROCTOR that one could rub a red taillight piece with a piece of sandpaper and grate it on to JO'K's hoodie in a similar fashion to how one would grate parmesan cheese onto a bowl of pasta. Then put on a pair of latex gloves, give it a little rub and then boom! you've got your Michelin-star quality "damning" evidence?

Yeah, people just say ARCCA ate lunch with KR’s dad. OH THE HORROR!! They’re all in the courthouse, was he supposed to go and have a panini with Honk Brennan? JMO

No evidence other than her own words and actions, data from the black box of her vehicle, data from his cell phone... Of course, we can argue all day and all night. I believe the evidence that was presented by the CW. I don't believe it was 2nd degree, but I believe she caused his death.
Well maybe just by leaving him there at the house she caused his death. If she had not left him there/or if she had gone inside with him he’d likely be alive today.
I bet she thinks about that every day.
John’s mother thinks that. That Karen left him there so she’s responsible.
I’m not sure that’s a crime though.
She needs to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt of causing his death.
JMO.
