Unbelievable. It I was on the jury and got that response I would say eff it. Better to just find NG in the face of so much confusion

This judge, I can’t. What in the world?

I no longer care, that judge deserves no respect, she's a moron.
She wants a hung jury or a mistrial way over a NG - so she is going with her Mr Magoo form and
her Mr Magoo instructions. Wild that she has no shame in front of all the cameras.
And to accuse the D of being late - Give me a break
The Bias could not be more clear

100 percent. and we so hope they have the same mindset.. seeing they are not getting the respect from a fair judge in this case they have been working hard and long on. IMO

For crying out loud, this judge's behavior and bias is grounds for disbarment. She should never be on the bench again. She is not impartial as is required for a judge.

You think the fan base gathering outside the courthouse, bullhorns, signs, chanting, every day while the jury is hearing the the case and especially now when the jurors are deliberating, is ethical? I surely don't, JMO

The appellate court disagrees. It is their right to gather and they have been extremely polite IMO

Her abrupt dismissive replies/actions are not how adults in society are supposed to behave. Let alone being a professional representative of the state.

That's how I would feel too. If I was not guilty on all charges but the OUI, I'd vote not guilty because I wouldn't cause a mistrial over it.

agreed
I'd make my own boxes on the form to check and then star them and provide a footnote explanation
When does the crazy end with this judge and prosecution

Why is it a bad thing to say "I cannot answer a hypothetical question, so I won't give an answer just now".

  • #871
It *seems* like JBC just wants to keep picking juries until she finds one that will convict KR of murder.

At this point I would just write "Not Guilty" in red permanent marker across her stupid juror form.

……and when the jury got the judge’s response, they probably looked at each other and said wtf?!?

Why is it a bad thing to say "I cannot answer a hypothetical question, so I won't give an answer just now".
Because, as the defense pointed out, the question has a clear answer as defined by law.

If I were on that jury I would be incredibly frustrated and I would vote NG on everything…better to err on the side of caution than risk unintentionally finding her guilty on something else! Dear God, this judge is unbelievable. The jury is doing their civic duties! They didn’t ASK to be on this jury, having to make these decisions! They should be helped along the way to explain complex legal issues that they most likely have no personal experience or knowledge to answer themselves! I’m fuming!
IMO

LOL, that is exactly what the jury did that I served on but there was a pastor on the jury who then admonished us.

Omg, Imo they are hung on the OUI, which is the situation where if it does not resolve one way or the other the cw can theoretically retry on the whole Manslaughter count again. AFAIA there can be no polling of the jury on a partial verdict, that is of count two and its lessers because there is no ng box for each of them. The jury are not allowed to be informed of the consequences. Like I said before, how can this be considered just? Wtaf.

I am fuming too. There is no excuse for her not answering the question.

The pettiness is soooooo far over the top of ANYTHING remotely resembling justice that she is a complete clown of a judge. She is a disgrace to the court, the commonwealth and the United States of America in my opinion!! How this is allowed to happen in this country is beyond me. She should be removed from ever presiding over judgement of another human being over anything ever again. Again in my opinion.
