Watching another trial out of TN and it is absolutely amazing that when witness is presented with transcripts of what he said to LE during initial interview stage, he agrees that he said that even if he doesn't remember now, all these years later. IMAGINE THAT Jenny Jen Jen!

Yeah I am also. I’m definitely not on board with the dog bites. They are abrasions, not bites. That’s what I see…..
I believe if you search for "dog bites" in this case you will find a website I linked. It contains multiple pages of photos of real dog bite injuries, and indicates if the victim was wearing clothing at the time of attack. Injuries are similar.

Also, google "attorney Melanie little" and "dog bite". She interviewed a K9 trainer who demonstrates how the dog's teeth creates certain patterns that are recognizable.

Also consider:
-The MSP never took swabs of OJO's arm
-Prosecution purposefully delayed giving his clothing to the defense for testing, and may never have

Could have been lying so the tires did t run him over directly. Just saying, looking forward to the theory CW will present. Still on the fence.
The CW can present theories, but conviction depends on evidence.

Agree. But I’d say that about all of them ONLY while being interviewed by CW. Then while being interviewed by defense, is when ALL of their true lack of character (lying, omitting) was revealed. They seemed sincere whilst giving their sanitized, often untrue, version of events.

A couple days ago I mentioned how odd it was that BA would go to a fellow LE officers funeral in another state (whose he didn’t even know!), but couldn’t walk outside his house to render aid/respect to JOK. I didn’t know they (any of them!!!) didn’t go to JOKs funeral! How did I miss that? BA and BH just drove to NY for a stranger’s funeral but didn’t go to JOKs? What the …………?
RBBM

Wait is that actually documented somewhere? Not one of them went to the funeral?

Holy hell that is nuts.

It seems like maybe it could be as simple as… EVERYONE was driving drunk that night (a wide range of intoxication with these folk). Any one of these people could have hit JOK.
Imo, seriously considering that no one is credible due to their intoxication -- apparently, many of the older adults were highly intoxicated. Wouldn't their testimony be ruled out? idk
Memory loss is real. Thankful for the science, but unfortunately, where is it in this case? moo

How long to die in the cold? The text was at 2.27am. Read McCabes answer, technically she was not lying....
Did you delete that search because you knewthat you would be implicated in John O'Keefe's death if that search was found on your phone?" Jackson asked.

"I did not delete that search," McCabe said. " I never made that search at 2:23. I never would have let John O'Keefe out in the cold to die because he was a friend that I loved."
Nicely spotted! The 2.23am answer might be interesting if one were to think in terms of freudian slip, though to what it might relate (if a FS) would be locked in her head and likely inaccessible even to her! but anyways...highly likely she just misspoke. jmo

The defense is done with Kerry Roberts. They didn't cross for a reason. She didn't say she heard "I hit him!" <modsnip - name changes>, and she said there was just a small hole in Karen's taillight. One small piece missing. No reason to recall her; on balance her testimony helps Read quite a bit.

Watch the police dashcam videos again. The snow was barely on the cars in driveways as they drove to the scene. Not just because of the fact that only a couple of inches had fallen by then but also because the wind was blowing intensely. So we don't need to guess about the conditions; easy to view them on the dashcams.
Not guess on the weather conditions. Everyone views weather conditions quite differently. moo

Holy hell that is nuts.

I just read ( No link ) that Kerry Roberts and husband were at the funeral. The rest of them ( McCabes and Alberts), nope.
Personally I can believe that, as Kerry came across on the stand as genuinely grieving and emotional when speaking of finding JOK.

Jen McCabe might have been wasted but the 'phone science' speaks for itself. The flurry of calls to John O'Keefe's phone that her butt made cannot be explained away, drunk or sober.

KerR's testimony spoke volumes. Linked article worth the read. KerR is also the only witness... the defense did not cross -- thus far.

It interesting how someone is able to recognize a mound of snow as JOK from inside a vehicle. The body fully covered by 3-4 inches of snow, that was testimony.
During a blizzard?
KerR didn't determine its a body until she got up close. moo

As they approached 34 Fairview Road, “All of a sudden Karen said, ‘There he is! There he is! Let me the F out of this car.’ And she started kicking the door,” Roberts recalled.

She said she didn’t see anything at the time, but she unlocked the door and watched as Read ran over to “a mound of snow.”

“At some point, I realized it was the shape of a body,” she added.

Roberts teared up as Assistant District Attorney Adam Lally played police dashcam footage from the scene. Choking back a sob, she recalled the moment she realized there was a person buried in the snow. When she ran over and cleared snow from the man’s face, she said she recognized O’Keefe, her longtime friend.

“He had blood coming out of his nose and his mouth, and his right eye — it looked like a golf ball,” Roberts said, adding that O’Keefe was also bleeding from a cut on the back of his head.

So only OJO's right eye was swollen upon "discovery" of his body.
The hospital photos show both eyes equally swollen.
Interesting.

Memory loss IS real. Probably why it would have been a good idea to not wait more than a year to do initial interviews with certain people. JMO

On butt dials and J McC....
I can just imagine her future, teaching a 'beachside' class on proper and effective butt toning using a phone in your jeans pocket while simultaneously blasting " It's Raining Men ".

The vision....

KerryR was the driver (eyes on road)and KR was intensely looking in a highly agitated state for her missing boyfriend to whom she was clearly attached (per testimony and what could be heard in back ground of video evidence). Imo that means she could easily have been open to visual suggestion not affecting the calmer and less invested witness. To me credible, plausible, relatable. Moo

Maybe it was JOK’s phone that might have been dropped or misplaced in the snow covered driveway? I was speculating up thread as to why the plow was used to do a supposed quick scrape of the driveway? And still wonder what supposed commotion or other events might have occurred had something happened when he was dropped at the residence?

Do we know the time of the supposed snow plow of the driveway? If so, how does that time compare with all the ‘derrière dialing’ to his phone? MOO

Interesting thoughts. And I really like 'derriere dialing', nice alliteration and DD is quite a catchy acronym

@5am ET: KR would say "John's dead" and “I’m afraid John might be dead. He might have gotten hit by a plow.”

That's interesting... curious about KR's communication to KerR that fateful morning. How did she know he's dead? idk

Kerry Roberts testified that she awoke at 5 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2022, to a brief phone call from Karen Read, who was screaming frantically into the phone.

“John’s dead,” she remembered Read yelling. Roberts said Read also called out “Kerry, Kerry, Kerry” before hanging up the phone.

Roberts had known John O’Keefe, Read’s boyfriend of two years, since high school and considered him one of her closest friends. When she finally got Read back on the phone, she learned that O’Keefe hadn’t come home the night before.

“I’m afraid John might be dead. He might have gotten hit by a plow,” Roberts said Read told her.
