I don't understand why we are going piece by piece of the broken tail light?

More pieces from the tail light on display.

@TedDanielnews

ADA Lally is displaying pictures of broken taillight pieces on the screen and asking Vallier if she recognizes them. Vallier took the photos

Vallier describes examining pieces and bringing them together to see if they fit, examined pieces under a microscope. Nobody has the analogy of a jigsaw puzzle, but that's what the process sounds like.

Re: regarding the case: It’s still a messy puzzle and only the framework is done. moo

It's insane.
But will he talk when the defense calls him?
I'm guessing not, because one of the defense attorneys said they'll only need 4 (presumably full) days after the prosecution rests. Proctor is a full week on his own.
Can't say I've ever seen a criminal case where the lead investigator decides to take the 5th.
On that last question raised, not sure if it was answered and while seemingly rare, a criminal case where an investigator (maybe not the lead) did plead the fifth for portions of his testimony was the OJ Simpson case in Los Angeles. IIRC Mark Furhman took the fifth for several questions from defense counsel while testifying. MOO

September 6, 1995 Washington Post article by William Claiborne entitled: “Fuhrman Won’t Answer Simpson Evidence Inquiry”:

@JHall7news

Good morning from Dedham, it’s day 20 of testimony in the #karenread second degree murder trial. This will be a full day of witnesses for the jury to listen to. We are waiting for the judge and jury.

@SueNBCBoston

Vallier often asks the Judge for permission to review their report.
Yannetti asks for a sidebar.
2 of the 3 jurors who pay close attention to technical testimony are taking notes during sidebar.

@FallRiverReport

We are talking about measurements of tail light pieces. Comment below if you can connect this part of testimony to Karen Read killing John O'Keefe:

Some of the jurors are taking notes. Others appear to be struggling to pay attention to this testimony as Vallier repeatedly describes evidence groups, the number of pieces and various colors.

30 minutes into Vallier retaking the stand and describing taillight pieces, one juror just yawned.

Is this testimony losing some of the jurors' attention? Is it time to move on? moo
