If he can expose what is happening behind the scenes ( and there is clearly imo lots of maneuvering) I will applaud him but simultaneously I will have no problem if he is held accountable for his actions.
JMO

His followers <modsnip> all seem to think the end justifies the means. But I don't think you need to harass or terrorize people (some clearly innocent of any wrongdoing like the poor woman who answers the phone at the Norfolk County courthouse) or try to shut down their businesses to get to the truth. But the "Turtle Riders" seem to be having lots of fun, so there's that.

Awareness has been raised. The FBI was apparently already investigating the investigation even before Turtleboy knew who Karen Read was. At this point, the only "good" TB and his minions are doing for her is to possibly taint the jury pool. They are not going to out-investigate the FBI.

And I wonder if they'd all be doing the same for a young black man who was wrongly accused.

Does this constitute guilt though? Could you honestly find her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt?
I am suspicious but I don't think I could strictly on the behavior. My guess is the prosecution has more. I'd be interested to see what cell phone records show.

A law enforcement BOLO (be on the lookout) has been issued for Aidan Kearney, the Holden blogger who calls himself “Turtleboy.” Two sources, including a member of law enforcement, told 25 Investigates that police are seeking to immediately be on the lookout for Kearney on probable cause for felony charges of domestic assault and battery and witness intimidation.

This new development stems from an incident Kearney was allegedly involved in Friday evening at the Medfield home of a woman he’s been in a relationship with, according to sources. 25 Investigates is still working to determine what the woman alleges Kearney did to her. The sources said the woman had previously shared information about Kearney with State Police investigators and is considered a witness in his ongoing prosecution that began with his arrest and district court appearance in October.

Not a fan of Turtleboy aka Aidan Kearney but it’s awfully strange he’s lived 41 years without a hint of criminal activity until he inserted himself in this matter. Things that make you go hmmmm.

That’s how I feel.
I’m not so much concerned with him in particular— but am disturbed by the thought that certain parties want him out of the way.

Without a *hint* though? He’s got quite a history, imo.

A history and a criminal history are two different things. While he certainly could have a civil history given the nature of his “news” tactics, it’s a solid fact he has no criminal history.

Fair enough, no criminal history afaik.

He may not have a criminal history, but there were allegations about his behavior towards minors that resulted in him leaving his job as a schoolteacher.

From a 2015 article in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette:
Last October, his alleged lewd and intimidating behavior toward a young woman at a Patriots-Buffalo Bills game in Buffalo triggered an investigation by school officials at Shepherd Hill. Mr. Kearney, however, chose to resign rather than face the music.

The "young woman" he was harassing was apparently 14.

Of course not good. I just hope it doesn’t give an advantage to other possibly corrupt parties covering up homicide.

With all this - was he a good blogger, or not? I am far from MA now and haven’t heard about him.

Oh he’s assuredly gross imo tactics and otherwise I’m definitely no “turtlerider” as they call his fans. I’m just more surprised he doesn’t have more of a history, which of course reverts back to my original hmmm why now?

This is imo and not a fact - lots of info totally googleable- iirc there was some (civil I assume?) case or cases against him for harassment or doxxing maybe? Again that’s going on my sketchy memory, moo. And no he’s not a “good blogger” or anything else good. His history is gross and I’m not sad to see him getting just desserts. Finally.

Eta. I don’t know how far back his blog goes pre Karen Reed but fyi use your best ad/pop up blocker if you check it out. I believe he’s got a YouTube channel as well again not sure if that predates Karen read.

In regards to the Karen Read case the most useful thing he did, IMO, was to post the various prosecution and defense filings. Many of the allegations in those, like the discrepancies in some of the police reports or the statement of the snowplow driver, haven't really been covered by the local media. Other than that a lot of his blog entries about the case were rumors, innuendo and supposition.

I think the one useful piece of 'reporting' he did was to uncover some possible collusion between the lead investigator and one of the state's primary witnesses. Unfortunately for him, in posting that he also convinced a police dispatcher to illegally run some license plates, thus landing himself a conspiracy charge.

As for his non-Karen Read entries, I'll just say that I'm not a fan and leave it at that.

No, not a good blogger. A lot of the things he blogged about weren't even news, it was extremely mean-spirited stuff, like "exposing" people for asking dumb questions on Facebook or making fun of them for fundraising for dubious causes. And always posting private information about these individuals so that they can be harassed by others.

He's a sordid character all around. My reading of the news reports so far indicates that the involved woman has been talking with the state police for the past couple of weeks regarding his prior witness intimidation charges. He should have stayed far away from her.

Aidan Kearney also known as Turtleboy heads into Dedham District Court this afternoon after domestic incident lands him in handcuffs…superior court judge could now hold him for violating bail conditions after his appearance last week

  • #298
The judge revoked his bail for intimidating another witness. This time his ex-mistress (yeah, he's married). She's been talking to state cops about what she knows. And apparently on the grand jury witness list. She allegedly talked to a cop on Friday about the case so TB decided to pay her a visit to find out what she said or what she knows. It didn't end well; the local cops got involved on a domestic call. Can't do that while out of bail. So he's in jail now awaiting trial.

Good riddance. He's a grifter and a distraction.

The Worcester Telegram online has a pretty good summary of today's proceedings.
