He's a sordid character all around. My reading of the news reports so far indicates that the involved woman has been talking with the state police for the past couple of weeks regarding his prior witness intimidation charges. He should have stayed far away from her.

100% agree. TB seems to have dug his own grave at this point. Oh well.

That said though, so much of this makes we wonder. I wonder why a matter with seemingly so much doubt is being hard pressed as a second degree murder charge. Seems incongruous but ok I’ll await the trial facts.

i wonder why TB is also being pressed so hard. Aside from his “riders” most locally see hIm as a clown and honestly most probably wrote off his presence as hyperbole except his self-inserted involvement in the case seems to have blown up by none other than law enforcement themselves. i cant help but question is it a diversion or a tactic. Idk.

There are so many questions and nuances, which may mean nothing or everything. There’s a lot that may be missed especially if not local or even if local but not following closely. For example, take the situation of the “Canton 9,” which involves 9:Canton citizens inclusive of a minor who in November were holding up signs supporting Karen Read on a main bursiness thoroughfare type street. They were approached by Canton police and asked to disperse due to a witness in the case being inside one of the businesses nearby. The 9 initially questioned why they couldn’t continue since peaceful and freedom ofspeech but ultimately left a short time later voluntarily. All 9 including the minor later received summons with court date in January for a felony charge of witness intimidation (like TB].Much like other things, it just seeme over the top and begs the question why.

Agree with your entire post. This all smacks of something….
My sense is that there may be an ugly underbelly involving more than just this case waiting to be exposed. Things just get curiouser and curiouser IMO.

Here is the link

that was exhausting
but thanks for the link
I still don't understand why he's so involved
he thinks Karen Read is being framed and now his supporters think he is being framed?
and he has a blog and loyal followers? is that the jist?
oh and he has a messy personal life

@LadyL
Turtle Boy is just a blogger who latched on to this case and he gained traction from his posts leading to more followers.
He is not materially involved in the case. He “reports” on it.
I consider him to be a side show.
However I do find it intriguing that Canton PD seems so threatened by him. If CPD is “clean” with nothing untoward to be uncovered - why do they so badly seem to want him out of the picture?
Imo

It's not so much the Canton Police as it is the District Attorney's office. There are recordings of the Special Prosecutor (on Turtleboy's case) who is based in another county calling the Canton cops to report protesters. A couple of times the officer on the line with him said something along the lines of "They have a right to be there" but were persuaded by the prosecutor to consider arresting them. Nine citizens were arrested and eight will have probable cause hearings next week. There is no indication that they were being disruptive.

I'm on the fence regarding Karen Read, although I do lean toward her innocence. I find TB absolutely despicable and think he deserves a heel cooling time in the county jail. But the Commonwealth's behavior here with regard to ordinary citizens peacefully protesting is more than a little disturbing.

(For anyone not very familiar with the investigation here, the Canton Police were only on the case for about two hours after O'Keefe was found on the fellow cop's lawn. Once he was declared dead at a local hospital the State Police took over.)

AK, aka, turtle boy (imo), is not worth the time. Isn't he taking the focus off of what is really important and that is KR and her defense? Why all the attention? moo

He's just a squeaky wheel and IMO not worth any discussion that takes focus off the case. moo

DEDHAM, Mass. (Court TV) — A hearing is scheduled on Friday in a case that has featured protesters at the courthouse, prompted a city audit and led to a blogger being placed behind bars.

Karen Read is charged with murdering her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, who was found dead in the snow outside the Canton home of a fellow officer.

Karen Read is charged with murdering her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, who was found dead in the snow outside the Canton home of a fellow officer.

While prosecutors have said that Read backed her car into O’Keefe before driving away and leaving him to die, Read’s defense team has said that the victim was alive and well the last time she saw him and has accused the police of a conspiracy to frame their client.

Friday’s hearing will feature the defense and prosecution arguing over access to records as the two sides continue to paint vastly different pictures of what happened to O’Keefe.

During Friday's hearing, the defense argued that there is a close relationship between the McCabe family, Albert family and Elizabeth and Michael Proctor. Michael Proctor is the state trooper who is the lead investigator in the case, and Elizabeth is his wife.
...
Two other motions by the defense were brought up, but not discussed at length. They were motions for protective orders regarding letters between local and federal prosecutors, as well as for communications with Boston Magazine.

The defense said that it would be filing a motion to dismiss, motion for sanctions and a motion for the DA's office to be disqualified from the case by the end of day Friday.

Why the cheers & applause? I don't recall another trial (perhaps Ive forgotten) other than this one - such nuisance. It is a court of law, and you'd think the judge would take control of their courtroom. jmo :)

Thank you, @ch_13 for the update. Haven't watched today's motions hearing yet. I hope to watch over the weekend.

From the article:

No final decisions were made by the hearing's end. Another court date was scheduled for Jan. 18 at 3 p.m., as the March 12 trial date looms closer.

It sounded like 6 or 7 people cheering in a crowded courtroom and in fairness, all that happened before the judge entered and before the hearing had started.

What was bizarre was that they had a Zoom call going and people kept yelling things during the proceedings. For some reason the court officials couldn't seem to mute the Zoom so there were several interruptions. As far as I could tell what they were yelling didn't even have anything to do with the Karen Read case. Apparently, the heckling was related to a former pro hockey player with a long criminal history.

Thank you. I started to watch, and turned it off because of the crowd noise to watch at a later time.

Apparently, the judge says that the trial is on par for March 2023 as scheduled. Honestly, so looking forward to this trial and to see what the evidence will be. There’s been too much drama prior to going to trial, and I am not in agreement with KR being framed. However, we shall see, and not saying she is guilty. jmo.

This is a fascinating case loaded with controversy and interesting people. Really looking forward to it. @arielilane...I hope you meant trial date of March 2024.

The judge sealed the defense motion to disqualify the DA's office.

Apparently the motion makes reference to the investigation by the Feds which has been bubbling under the surface for months. Just another twist in this increasingly bizarre case.

A judge on Monday sealed a motion from lawyers for Karen Read, the Mansfield woman charged with murder for allegedly backing her SUV into her boyfriend and leaving him for dead during a blizzard in Canton in 2022, to disqualify the Norfolk district attorney’s office from prosecuting the sensational case.

The ruling from Norfolk Superior Court Judge Beverly J. Cannone means the public won’t be able to see the motion before a Jan. 18 hearing in the case, according to legal filings. Read, 43, is currently free on bail and is slated to stand trial in March.

Not that I like bringing him up, but from yesterday's proceedings it sounds as though Turtleboy apparently was under the impression that there is a grand jury now looking into allegations that Karen Read's family was paying him to allegedly harass witnesses involved in the case against her. He was convinced the ex-girlfriend/witness was sharing info regarding his dealings with the Read family, which is why he was arrested and tossed in jail when he tried to get info from her on Christmas Eve. Grand juries are secret of course, so we cannot confirm this independently, but we do know she had recently been called to testify in front of some GJ.

What a wild mess this one is.

It’s crazy how this case has evolved to include so many extraneous individuals and outliers who have now become imbedded in the fabric of the situation. It’s alarming to me because while I want the full truth to come out the bottom line is a man died and a family lost a father/uncle, brother, and son.

So much hearsay going on. The one reporting all these so called facts from inside the courtroom is another self proclaimed internet reporter seen on twitter mostly, Grant Smith Ellis, who firmly aligns with the hatred of turtleboy group. It’s hard to tell at this point if that group stems from Karen Read guilty base or just hellbent on canceling turtleboy group.Others from the courtroom yesterday from the other side have reported such things also as this same Grant Ellis Smith was caught zooming in on and taking pictures of turtleboy attorney‘s laptop screens. He was allowed to remain though. Puzzling if true but hard to tell truth in all this. So many more unconfirmed reports from matters inside the courtroom yesterday too, which since no way to confirm I won’t repeat but suffice to say involve head scratching intertwining of this DV matter and the Karen Read matter and the related charges against TB stemming from the Karen Read matter, aka alleged contact between parties that shouldn’t be in contact and/or don’t make sense why in contact.

its a mess, it’s a circus, an embarrassment even.
