Ex-Boyfriend Denies Involvement in Sabrina Hatheway Disappearance

According to Crozier, Hatheway had been gone the entire week before December 20th. "Sabrina had been gone for a week before the 20th. She left on the 13th. I didn’t hear from her or see her for a whole week until the 20th. She told me on the 13th ‘I’m not coming home now.'She showed up with police and retrieved her stuff from my home.

“On the 20th, we exchanged Facebook messages and finally met up. She seemed stressed out. She was talking to me about her kids father. She told me he was at the lowest point of his life, that he was on drugs again. She wanted to go out looking for him. She wanted to go out and get high.”

Crozier said he and a friend went to Sabrina's "Aunt's" house to pick her up. After that they went to a friend's house to drink.
"We were there, we got drunk. A friend gave us a ride home. We went inside and I passed out. When I woke up in the morning, she was gone

Kevin Crozier, ex-boyfriend of missing Worcester resident Sabrina Hatheway, continues to plead his innocence in Hatheway's disappearance. Following a story by GoLocal Worcester on Thursday, Crozier contacted GoLocal again to give a more detailed account of what happened between January 13 to January 20, and the days that followed.

"Sabrina and I were never in an abusive relationship. It was quite the contrary. We were in a loving, caring, commited relationship. We almost never fought and me and Sabrina are like best friends. The things that are being said are so far from the truth its crazy. The only people that are making these comments are people that are reading social media and dont know either of us personally. All of a sudden, because I don't respond to her mother right away or because she doesn't believe me that I don't have a phone, she goes crazy and post off the wall things," said Crozier.

"Sabrina never left my house running from abuse," said Crozier. "I dropped Sabrina off at her aunt's house on the 13th of December before I went to a friends to help him fix his truck. I didn't want to leave my girlfriend (Hatheway) home alone with no phone or cable all day, so I asked if she would like to go to her "aunt" Jessica Guzman's house. She said 'no' and she just wanted to stay home. I told her i was going to be hours and after a while she finally said she would go and she called and told her she was coming. I dropped her off and told her I would see her later.

If they were in a "... loving, caring, commited (sic) relationship" then why would she have police accompany her to his home on Dec 13 to retrieve her belongings?

Even if she decided to take a break from the relationship with Crozier, would she still need LE to be with her IF things were amicable? (imo, the answer is NO)

They seem very messed up if u ask me!
But he is being very vocal and Im not sure what to think about this situation.

There's part of me that believes him, yet there are way too many things that don't make sense and everything seems to be pointed in his direction. I hope he's telling the truth.

from previous posts.
Yea, right - only problem is I don't think we will ever get to hear Sabrina tell us her side of the story, sadly...

This is just up the road from me. Local belief is that some kind of gang related stuff going down. May involves the boyfriend or the father of the kids, but maybe not. And stuff that hasn't been said to LE, which often means somebody's shooting off their mouth about things they don't really know.

There seems to be zero belief that she's okay somewhere, but with the weather the way it's been, there's not much that can be done in the way of searching.

Is it not weird how the aunt says,"If I had known she was going with him, I would not have allowed it." She recognized some danger, etc. But the 23 year old whom the danger would have been aimed at, looks at the same situation, and lies and leaves the house, much like a 14 year old. But the 23 year old has the responsibility of of two children. Yet, her mind told her to lie and leave. To me, the human mind is such a mystery.

Well said! Also, the way she is also thought of like a 14-year old - how could an aunt not allow a grown woman to do something...

Police take missing woman's papers from burnt Worcester home
bilde

Court records show police seized a laundry list of items from the torched house at 11 Dixfield Road on Jan. 15, as well as from the 1995 Chevrolet Camaro parked in the driveway. Officials allege the items seized are evidence in a crime, though court documents did not specify what the crime is and the Worcester Police Department won't comment on the case. Items taken included two pieces of the master bedroom mattress with stains, a cigarette lighter and photographs, along with papers related to Ms. Hatheway, 23, who has been missing since Dec. 20.

According to Ms. Hatheway's family, the young woman was the on-again, off-again live-in girlfriend of a man who lived in the home. According to police records, the homeowner is Donna Crozier, of Florida, who told officers that her 29-year-old son, Kevin Crozier, lived in the house. Ms. Hatheway's mother, Brenda Hatheway, of Leicester, said she has not heard from her daughter in all this time.

Worcester police and firefighters responded to the fire at the one-story ranch house about 5 a.m., Jan. 1. They determined the fire was intentionally set, with multiple points of origin, and found a flashlight left turned on and a gas cap about 25 feet to the left back side of the home.

EXCLUSIVE: Missing Girl’s Mother Believes Aunt Responsible for Disappearance
crozierhome_(1)_360_360_90.jpg

Kevin Crozier is a person of interest in the disappearance of 23-year-old Sabrina Hatheway who has been missing for nearly three months. However, Crozier and Hatheway's mother, Brenda Hatheway, believe there are other people responsible for Sabrina's disappearance. Hatheway was last seen on December 20. According to the U.S. Department of Justice National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Sabrina "was last seen with her ex-boyfriend whose house burned down January 1, 2015 and deemed arson."

Crozier, Hatheway's ex-boyfriend, was interviewed at length by GoLocal Worcester in February. He vehemently denied any involvement in Hatheway's disappearance.

In a Facebook message exchange sent to GoLocal Worcester between Crozier and Brenda Hatheway on January 21, Brenda Hatheway tells Crozier that she thinks Sabrina was the one responsible for trying to burn down Crozier's house. According to the messages, Brenda Hatheway believes that Sabrina's aunt and her aunt's boyfriend are hiding Sabrina and were involved in attempting to burn down Crozier's home.

The aunt that Hatheway considers responsible is a familly friend that Sabrina considers her "aunt."

Oh good, it's finally in print. I heard this rumor last month but couldn't find a valid source for posting here.

The mother is not the only person saying this.

Still no answers on missing woman as suspect in Worcester arson fire caught in Florida

WORCESTER - A city man who told investigators he wasn't home when a fire erupted in his family's 11 Dixfield Road home on New Year's Day has now been indicted on charges of arson of a dwelling and conspiracy, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office has confirmed.

The alleged arson took place in a home where a missing Worcester woman was staying, according to her family. No one has heard from Sabrina Lee Hatheway since Dec. 20, over a week before the fire.

A search warrant affidavit on file in Central District Court, issued to gather evidence of arson inside the 11 Dixfield Road home, revealed paperwork was found inside the home with Sabrina Lee's name on it.

Sabrina Lee's mother, Brenda Hatheway, said she dated Crozier and stayed in the Dixfield Road home. A listing of the circumstances surrounding Hatheway's disappearance on the National Missing and Unidentified Missing Persons System said she "was last seen with ex-boyfriend whose house burned down January 1, 2015 and deemed arson."

Brenda Hatheway said in an interview Monday that she hopes Crozier's arrest brings answers about her daughter's fate.

"I want to know what happened," she said Monday. "There's no way she would keep this kind of distance from me for this long."

Brenda Hatheway plans on appearing in Worcester Superior Court when Crozier is brought to Massachusetts for arraignment.

Kevin Crozier, 28, who lived at 11 Dixfield Road at the time of the fire, was arrested last week in Florida on a charge of damaging property under $200 and an out of state fugitive from justice warrant, according to information posted on the Lee County Sheriff's Office website.

Timeline of Sabrina Hatheway Disappearance - Missing Since 12/20/14

Back in February, Crozier denied any involvement in Hatheway’s disappearance, but it now is clear he was desperately trying to save face in wake of accusations made against him.

To make things even more confusing, a friend of Crozier’s sent GoLocal Worcester more than 20 emails of a Facebook conversation between Crozier and Hatheway’s mother, detailing the mother’s belief that Sabrina was involved in her own disappearance.

However, over the past two days, Crozier and two of his friends, Scott Phelan of Millbury and Lionel Bermudez of Worcester, have all been indicted. Crozier is currently being held in Florida for another arrest, while Phelan is being held on $50,000 bail in Worcester and has a scheduled court date of May 14. Bermudez has yet to be arraigned.

Details about missing woman revealed in Worcester arson bail hearing

Mr. Hodgens said in court that the couple broke up Dec. 13 and about a week later, went to a party together. Friends drove the couple back to the Dixfield Road house sometime between the evening of Dec. 20 and the early morning hours of Dec. 21. Mr. Hodgens said Ms. Hatheway, who has two children, has not been seen or heard from since.

Worcester police noted in a mid-January search warrant of the burned site that they seized drain traps, cuttings of stains from a mattress and paperwork baring Ms. Hatheway’s name.

Mr. Hodgens said police determined after searching the home after the Jan. 1 fire there was a “distinct” burn pattern that went from the hallway to the master bedroom of the home and in a “circular pattern” around the bed that Mr. Crozier and Ms. Hatheway shared.

“(Investigators) also noticed that the bed did not have any bedding material or sheets that would customarily be associated with a bed that was being used,” Mr. Hodgens added.

The district attorney’s office alleges the co-conspirators in the case – Scott T. Phelan, 29, of Millbury, and Lionel Bermudez, 30, of Worcester – were recruited by Mr. Crozier to help him burn down the house. The prosecution lawyer said the pair were promised a cut of insurance money for the home.
