I just don't get why the husband moved the family so far away from his job. I understand wanting them to live in a better neighborhood, but wasn't there others closer?

He has immediate family in the area and it is about as far as you can get from Los Angeles, and I'm not speaking geographically. It sounds like his work life was a grind with the hours and the cross-country travel, but lots of people (long haul trucker for instance) have a similar lifestyle. He picked what is otherwise, a very safe community and had his family close by.

Huh. I don’t remember seeing that about the dead cat before. Just adds to the drama of it. I feel awful for this woman and her babies.

Yeah, I never heard about the cat thing until today.

did they have trouble w trespassing? There is a red private property sign, I'd like to know if anyone had been bothering or encroaching on their land in the past?

It's my understanding that signs were put up after the fact. There haven't been reports of any issues like trespassing occurring prior to the murders.

During his court appearance, Locke continually glanced at a group of women. The women declined to speak to reporters as they left the courthouse.

He was in Florida according to a Boston Globe article the other day. Still refusing to talk to the media.

Interesting info regarding family relationships.

"During the court hearing, a woman believed to be the mother of Mr. Locke’s child waved to him as he was led into the courtroom. She sat with his mother and Mr. Bermudez’s mother, who are sisters. They declined to speak with reporters."

It may be to protect her and her child in a weird way, I know. She wants him to see her so he knows she’s on his side in case he gets out. Fear goes a long way. IMO

It’s definitely possible, but she’s also been passionately defending him in the comments’ sections of news articles posted online. So it’s either what you suggest or that she’s completely blind in the face of overwhelming evidence that he’s just not a good guy.

So the paternal grandmother of the 3 dead kids was in court sitting next to the mother of the guy in jail?
The guy in jail's ex was also in court and her mother's boyfriend was murdered before?
Man.... this guy has the worst luck always being associated with brutal murders.

I’m with her...hate the silence. Such a tragedy.

I can't decide if she is wanting the guy released or charged with more? I wish the whole quote was there.

Rachaul was in Massachusetts this week for the pre-trial hearing of 31-year-old Mathew Locke, who is accused of misleading police in the investigation.

Locke is a cousin of Moses and Rachaul.

"It was a shame that he's still in jail for speculation," said Bermudez.

Yeah, Rachaul is a piece of work. I found it interesting that she said that she believed Locke to be innocent and then hedged, saying that she hadn’t seen him in many years. She isn’t well spoken so it’s likely that is in fact the whole quote.

"If that's what police think, I don't think they should think that," she said.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bob Ward asked her, "Did Matt ever threaten to kill you? And you took that as a serious threat?"

"I didn't. I didn't. I wrote that for the statement."
:shame:

She's now taking back those accusations. Ward asked her why she wrote that in the restraining order.

"I wanted to make sure I got it. Because I wasn't sure what the outcome would be. I wanted to make sure, at the time, I could get away from him," she said.

She says she regrets taking out those restraining orders and that even back then, she feels they could have worked it out.

So apparently lying to cops is just a normal thing in this group? Guessing you can't be charged for falsifying the documents she used to get restraining orders? Because this is why people who REALLY need them can never get them! :gaah:

Haaa I know. Great point and unfortunately the attitude here is common. No credibility.

We will see if she changes that statement when the DNA evidence, if there is any, comes back. Very odd that the people who reside in the home in Ware (where the other "killing" happened in February) are not scared or pushing for answers. If someone died a violent death in MY home, it would not be "business as usual" for me. Seems to suggest they know what happened, and who did it, and that's why they are not afraid.
