Yes, I can not find it there too. Maybe there are cases that are in one database and not in the other one?

Yes, that happens.

Thanks Fede for the link. I hope the potential match was submitted.

Interesting...the time frame and age of the deceased fits...but Granby is way out in Hampshire County (near Hadley and Amherst)

I believe it states this potential match had decayed teeth. Don't think Simone did.

Did law enforcement ever check her apartment??
If she was going to stay with family for a few, wouldnt she need spare clothes, tooth and hair brush...necessities???
Did she go back home to change...was her purse and waitress outfit at the apartment?

Article below confirms a few things discussed previously here-

One, since this was mentioned as an "annual vacation" I am making an educated assumption Simone was pretty familiar with Cape Cod and the Islands. Two, it mentions since she was an "off and on" student, she made the decision that summer not to return to her high school. I assume this would have been Dover-Sherborn Regional HS.

Interesting article. Would love to know what the brand new leads were. Hope they pan out.
Do you know when was this article published? Maybe I'm just tired, but I couldn't find the date.

Its been several months since the sherborn detective has posted. Wish he could follow up on any new leads. Cannot find anything about a search of the area ever done with a search party or dogs...
Was the employees at the diner ever shown a pic of the elderly man...maybe he was a regular customer..that I would fine interesting.

Hi,

Yes, I wish Sherborn Detective would come to the surface. I 100% understand keeping the investigation close to the vest. Maybe at least a "hello all, thanks to the spotlight on this case, a few promising leads have cropped up..."

I am not sure about the search with dogs. I am not sure what area they would focus on (I assume you mean her apartment?) However, I cannot find it now but I believe reading in media articles about there being a good search...I am uncertain whether that involved dogs or not. If i come across it again, I will post it.

Your last question is one that I would love answered and perhaps that is one of the things SD was working on as I believe he was leaning in that direction (based on his comments..)

Alleykins,

Not sure about the date, it says "copyright, 2018" at the bottom. I am assuming the site is reprinting an article from a local paper...

If we are to think she left her waitressing shift and started to hitch hike, why no mention of a suitcase? Did she go home to shower/change..pack a bag ? Maybe she wasn't abducted while hitching a ride. Details seem so sketchy...

Not sure if she needed a suitcase for her trip, especially if she was hitching a ride. I was around the same age as Simone at the time and spent many weekends down the cape in the summer. I normally just packed a small duffel bag or knapsack. Oh, Like Simone I also hitchhiked when I was late or couldn't get a ride with one of the gang. I believe I read where she took off the blue work blouse/apron and was going to leave right after work. However, I could be wrong about that point...

Busy holiday weekend, so many people traveling, anyone could have picked her up. Just wish I could figure out the elderly mans story and angle.

Just bumping the Simone Ridinger case up -

I belong to one of the true crime podcast groups, I'll see if there is any interest in putting this on the podcast.

I wonder if they made any headway on the possible match I suggested.
It's a shame the detective hasn't come back to give us an update, even a small one.
I appreciate that he reached out, I know he's busy.

I am not sure I would expect to see the detective back here; I think he got what he came here for.

Not sure about your cynicism...I don't think there was anything here that he didn't have already. Maybe he was checking what the consensus was on theories or other ways of looking at the elements. I think as it still is an active and open case maybe his superiors told him not to come on the site. In re-reading his postings I found him quite open and candid.

I don't spread myself out into a lot of the other threads but does LE come on and actively post on open investigations.

You misunderstand-I am not being cynical. I said that because he didn’t come here to inform-he wants to get to the bottom of Simone’s disappearance; his contribution got people talking again about her. He really can’t do any more here because of the possibility that the authorities might actually find the person who “disappeared” her, and that person might be tried. He can’t show his hand, as much as we’d all like to see him come back.

Not sure if anyone else noted the Facebook page for Simone, looks like it hasn't been active in the last few years -
