27-year-old Tewksbury native Yessenia Roman, who was last seen in Lawrence. She's described as a 5-foot-3 woman, weighing around 130 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

She went missing from the state hospital...

"Yessenia Roman, 27, was last seen Dec. 14 by Tewksbury State Hospital staff. Roman was a patient at the hospital due to a mental illness, her mother said. She may be off her medication, which could present a danger to her well-being.

Police believe she may have been in Lawrence after leaving the hospital. A transportation service driver said he picked her up from the hospital and dropped her off in the Union Street area about 6 p.m. on Dec. 14.

Roman also has connections to Chelsea and Malden."

That happens every so often at the Tewksbury State Hospital. I grew about a 3/4 of a mile from there. Elderly dementia patients once in awhile would decide to leave the hospital to "go home", and police would bring them back in a cruiser.

I hope this woman is found soon. I am sure she is fine, just decided she didn't like it there and left on her own.

Oh and to give you a little history lesson about Tewksbury State Hospital- this is the place that Anne Sullivan, Helen Keller's famous teacher and companion, lived there along with her brother, after her mother died and her father couldn't take care of them.

Tewksbury woman missing since mid-December found safe

TEWKSBURY -- The 27-year-old woman who had been reported missing since mid-December has been found safe, according to police Thursday morning.

Tewksbury resident Yessenia Roman was located in Boston, Tewksbury Police reported on its Twitter account.
