Actually I think releasing the info about her distinctive eye feature was a very good idea. It is something that is uniquely her and will help weed out false sitings and give something to specific to look for. Though I wonder how close up one would have to be to notice.

You would think it would make it easier to identify someone with a distinguishing feature. Cant understand how anyone would think this could hinder the investigation or the safety of Madelaine.

It is possible that because of the distinctive feature being publicized worldwide, that Madeleine cannot be disguised enough to take outside, and that the abductor will kill her to prevent her from being recognized if kept.

I have no idea whether contact lenses would hide the defect. (I hate to call it a defect, but that's how it has been referred to in the press, and I can't think of another way to describe it right at the moment.)

If so, you would think authorities would ask eyeglass shops in Portugal and Spain, at least, to let them know if someone orders colored lenses that do not have a prescription in them.

I was disturbed only because I clicked on that one link and read stuff I wish I hadn't. As far as satanic rituals, my mind just doesn't want to go there and I wish I hadn't read any of it. Ember, thanks for enlightening me about misconstrued ideas about Wicca. I too believe somewhat in Karma and that whoever has Madeline will pay bigtime if he/she harmed her in any way.

The McCanns will be interviewed by Sky News in an interview to be broadcast at 5 p.m. today. If that's Portugal/UK time, it will be broadcast at 12 noon, EDT in the U.S.

I'm glad I'm here too - there is so much parent bashing going on the UK forums, along with the mass media coverage of the case, its all clouding the real issues at hand.

Whilst I am sympathetic to the parents plight, I am totally devoid of any respect for them. The speed in which a 'fund' was set up does not sit comfortable with me:-

This has now been removed by the official website, (IMHO because it didn't sit comfortably with others also. These are wealthy people whom I feel should first look to their own assests before looking to others to compensate them for something which was (whatever the reasoning) -ultimately their mistake.

I personally think they are attempting a 'damage limitation' drive and will be interested to see how they respond on the Sky News interview.

I also hate to think of it as a defect Roughly, because her big eyes are so absolutely beautiful like a Keene painting come to life!~ They are calling her The Girl with the Teardrop Eye which I am sure will catch on. But what makes that teardrop is actually a hole in her eye. And along with that condition there are a lot of things that can often pop up in people. I can't remember them now, but I know one of them is a cleft palate. There could be other things about her we the public are just not aware of. I know she does have a dark spot on her leg as it was mentioned on the MP Report.

I see this Teardrop Eye in Madeline as nothing derogatory to her unique beauty, but to someone thinking of adopting her it marks her as to her ID and I don't see how that could be disguised with a colored contact. That is why they have said no one will want her when they can buy another child who is not marked. And that is not a good thing. Evidently the person that chose her didn't know about her eye.

I want to leave this post on a good note though, as I have read many places that many people, including LE, feel that she is still alive and being held not far away.



There was a Moroccon man who was stopped taking a little girl by walking her away from her house and down the road in the recent past in Portugal, and the mother spotted her and screamed at the man who took off running and the girl was saved. This man then somehow contacted this parent and said he would eventually take her little girl away. So scary. The sighting of Madeleine at the gas station was in Marakesh, Morocco, across the Straight of Gibralter in Africa. Moroccans at one time in the history of Spain had a great influence on that country untill they were eventually kicked out of power. Scandi

Lets hope this does happen. It would be nice if the theaters could do this for all missing children and adults.

It they had been watching the family surely the perp would have seen that they were traveling with a large group. How did the perp feel so comfortable in snatching that child out of her room?

I did read an article that had quotes directly from her, and you could be correct. However she said she made direct eye contact with this little girl and she is 99% sure it was Madeline. I hope she is wrong, as I hate to see her down in Africa so far away! And I didn't read about a woman, but Ms Ollie {sp} said there was an older man with her who turned his back to Ms Ollie when he noticed she was taking stock of the little girl!

Isn't that incredible Jdee at the thought of Warner Bros doing that! The resort where they are staying, was that built by a Warner Bros affiliate?

And the Marble arch in London, isn't that incredible?

I did read a local poster say it would be very easy for someone to stand at the back window of their apt and listen to what was going on inside. That window is facing a road that borders the edge of the resort, and so is not visible from Tapas or anyone inside the courtyard area of the resort. There's a diagram here somewhere that shows the layout.

Also, the poolman at the resort has been questioned 2x I think as his exwife is RM's current girlfriend and she still lives with him - the poolman, her ex. The McCanns had been there for 2 weeks, so they had ample time to get the pattern of their comings and goings.

I read somewhere that this was not the only time they had left the kids alone and that includes the group they were with that also I read they too left their children alone. That would lead me to beleive that they were being watched and their routine monitored.
Does anyone recall where this was stated about this not being the first time they left the kids?

Yes Scandi and I feel certain the culprit here never dreamed that this abduption would reach this magnitude. Kids go missing all the time and unless you live in the area they were taken you seldom here about it. This reminds me of John Walsh's son. And look what good came out of that! A TV show where criminals are posted and profiled AND in MANY cases captured!
