And WHY are they taking the twins to the creche every day, anyway? Thats always struck me as WEIRD. They aren't working- they have family and friends around - why not KEEP THEIR (surviving) children near to them?

http://ionglobaltrends.blogspot.com/search/label/Madeleine McCann

There is a Portuguese woman named Isabel who posts comments on Aussie Mike's blog. She says the news is flying through Portugal about the blood found in the Ocean Club apartment and EVERYONE there believes that the McCanns had something to do with Madeleine's death.

When the McCanns took the twins to the creche this morning they were approached by a journalist and hurried away, covering their faces and the twins' faces so pictures couldn't be taken. Isabel also says if this new information leads to GM's arrest, he will need to be put in protective custody because the nation is out for his blood. They are so invested in Madeleine's safety that they're demanding justice for her and want someone to pay.

Boy, that's telling, isn't it?

I think the reason the blood on the walls was just now discovered is because they just now looked for it. Hard to believe a complete forensic investigation was not done from the beginning. I vaguely recall discussions early on, i.e. 1-2 weeks into the case where the British LE wanted to bring in their sniffer dogs, and the Portugese authorities said no. Apparently, the British dog that was brought to the scene recently is trained at detecting blood and/or body fluid smells from people who are dead or dying....not blood from an accidental cut where you survive. After this dog hit on the smell of death having happened in the room, the room was forensically evaluated, and the cleaned blood was visible with something like Lumniol and UV light. I read somewhere that it was on the base of the floor near the bed? I am still not sure what to think....just sad.

Well If the Portugal public turns against the McCann's now.. and they chose to stay on there, that to me would be rather telling because I for one would want to get the hell outa Dodge.

This is from my distant memory of three months ago (LOL- I have problems remembering my kids' names sometimes), but I think early on in the investigation when the media ball got rolling, the uppity ups in the British government started weighing in with the Portuguese government asking about the investigation. There was some suggestion that the PJ was cowed by all the questions and felt the McCanns couldn't possibly be involved. And they supposedly don't have the technology that the UK and America has at its disposal for detecting crime.

Wow, this reeks of the JonBenet Ramsey situation which I too think was staged to cover up an accident. I am with you guys that I don't think the parents set out to harm Madeleine but somehow they did, MOO.

OR.....

From the Mirror Forum (they are jumping up and down over there):

The Portuguese police, who have suspected the parents from the start, move the McCanns out of the apartment and into another apartment where they can be observed and possibly eavesdropped on. They install an undercover agent into the apartment next door for this task. The apartment they had previously been occupying is then reported as being "sold". However more undercover agents are installed as "paying guests" in that apartment, in order to preserve its security and to keep an eye on anything suspicious that might occur in the vicinity in the days and weeks following.

The Portuguese police continue their surveillance of the McCanns, allowing them to do whatever they want, observing their responses to key developments (or lack of developments). They allow Murat to continue to be listed as a suspect, even though they believe early on he has nothing to do with it. They allow stories to be floated about his changing alibi in order to gauge the responses of the others they have under surveillance. They also bring back members of the party for a confrontation, not to finger Murat, but to see how the other members of the party react and interact.

Having reached a point where they must have substantive evidence against the parents, the Portuguese police bring in the "UK sniffer dogs" and (truthfully or untruthfully) allow news reports to surface that the dogs have determined that Madeleine was dead in the apartment for several hours, and that blood spatters have been located on the wall.

The police continue to monitor the McCann's reactions to these news reports, and possibly ask for their thoughts in their regularly weekly scheduled meeting with the parents.

Pure speculation but interesting spin. People are really discussing theories now. Very intense. http://forums.mirror.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=3

I get up here to NYC and just immediately turned on the news channels and I am finding nothing, so I thought I would hop on here and see what my fellow WS'rs were saying. Wow... you guys, as always, amaze me... thanks for posting the updates and what is going on. I really really really hoped this case would have a better outcome... and there is still a teeny tiny slim chance that it could, but goodness the stuff that is piling up really makes my heart drop to my feet. *sighs* I really want this little girl to be okay...

Once my daughter's plane gets here I won't be able to get online to check things... (I'm not one of those mom's that puts being a social butterfly above being responsible for my child... so she has my attention once she gets here. Of course she is 17 and I cramp her style, but... what ever. LoL) so, thanks in advance for keeping things up-to-date... I keep following things, when I can, hoping for good news on Maddie.

We will be here when you check back. It is 10.30pm in PDL now...so nothing more until tomorrow most likely.

Enjoy!:) :)

The McCanns are avoiding photographers? That's real turnabout, and a sign of guilt.

My scenario: Gerry was drinking all day and was bombed by evening. He seems to have a short fuse. Maddie's been nagging all week to go to dinner with them. She won't settle down. He grabs her by the feet, swings her in anger, cracks her head against the wall.

They clean up, call the Pact of Silence Gang, plan the cover- up, and dispose of the body.

Were any of them, like Russ O'Brien, boaters? O'B may be the man seen carrying a child, taking her to a boat to row out and throw the corpse in a cove somewhere.

So would I..pronto.
I was reading the link colomom posted (Thanks:) ) at the Daily Mirror.

There is a poster there, who seems to have credibility-imo, who lives in PDL. She said her partenr was at the supermarket tonight at 5.30 (it is after10.30 pm now in PT) and that he was approached by the GM.
Both of them were in the supermarket selling wristbands for 2 euro. GM was by the freezer section and asked her partner if he wantedto buy one--and he answered 'no thanks'.

With all that was going on today, she thought perhaps photo opp for British news down there now.

If this is for real, I am speechless....

imoo

This is the news at 1.00 pm today. Gives local shots...shows the area, talks about the blood samples sent for testing at the Institute of Legal Medicine, shows the McCanns and also British newscasters coming to PDL for story.

Okay lots to digest here and all of it displeasing to the palate. I really hope P LE has lots of info behind closed doors and is getting ready to let the world know what has happened to Poor maddeline. I do believe her parents are very suspect.

If this is true, it floors me. Hurray for the PJ! They are so on their toes, much more than they let on to the world.

As thought from the very beginning by many posters the McCanns are responisible, and as time goes by this is more evident, I was hoping it wasnt the case, but what is one lead to believe after all have read since coming on here this morining.
Prayers to you Madelaine, and to the twins, whom I hope are put in safe hands.

I agree, Shazza. This is so sad for that poor little girl, not only to be let down by her parents by being left alone night after night in a strange apartment but now, IMO, in the worst possible way. I hate to say I told you so to all the McCann supporters, because I very much wanted to be wrong. Nothing would've pleased me (and the rest of us here at WS) more than for her to resurface, alive and well. But I truly don't believe that's going to happen.

Calikid, this is heart wrenching, I personally will never read another thread like this, I will be sticking to the Jury room or somewhere where I will not hear of any atrocities against children, this has affected me deeply and I cannot go through this again.

I have met some terrific posters here, and hope that we stay in contact on other threads, so when this is over I will not be coming back to missing threads.

Don't say that, Shazza. I'll miss your common sense here.

Look a third down the page. This is a forum threat, not a verbatim reputable source, but someone's contact in Portugal is saying that arrangements are being made for the McCanns to turn over the twins to care in the UK.

Latest Update - Gerry's Blog/Diary

Day 95 - 06/08/2007

Today was again very busy. Lots of e-mails and telephone calls to family and friends who have been involved in the campaign to find Madeleine. I went to a large office store in Portimao to buy a new printer and ink, both of which were badly needed after all the posters we produced this last week.

There has been lots of media attention on the latest police searches. We are pleased that the investigation remains so active and we are cooperating fully with the Portuguese and British police, as we have done since day 1. We continue to hope and pray daily for that vital breakthrough or sighting that will lets us be reunited as a family.

In my opininion I think this should have been done from the start, imagine being behind closed doors with the family, whether the parents are innocent or guilty, it would have not been a very comfortable place to be, and the twins do not need to see the behaviour of their parents as it could not have been normal behaviour. The twins would be better off with their grandmother whom they know well. But the McCanns wanted it to look like they were a normal family even though they were taken to creche everyday, they wanted to look family perfect, well I think we all know now what a farce that is. This is my honest opinion only.
