*quiet thought* I think cuddle cat is a sympathy point... it's a public relations thing.

Cast me aside if I am wrong in saying that, but that is how it comes across to me. The last picture of Kate in the media is a posed shot of sorts, with cuddle cat well placed within the eye range of Kate's face. The photographer shot her in a manner where the background was well blurred (us photographers call the blurring "bokah") and the image made you immediately focus on her and that cat.

If this was a movie, cuddle cat would be called a "plot point"... but as much as it is playing out like a really bad one, (movie) it isnt... so "sympathy point" it is.

Wonder what their answer would be to what was in that suitcase? I don't like what went through my mind.

Well if Kate M. is trying to win votes with her Cuddle Cat sympathy point, after that interview with Sky News she's lost a lot my sympathy for her.

*btw Elphaba, I can't stand typos in my work either*

Gerry McCann would have to be nuts to hide Madeleine's body in a suitcase and then very publicly take it to the beach the day after her disappearance.

I dont know what to believe anymore, when and if this is ever over, I bet a movie is made about it, just like they made a movie about a baby that was taken by a Dingo here in Australia, Meryl streep played the mother, the mother was charged with the murder but was released a couple of years later after new evidence was found and they did not think the mother was guilty.

Would like to know what was in the suitcase and why it was taken to the beach, some picnic baskets look like suitcases, maybe that is what it was.

Maybe Gerry only had a suitcase to take the "stuff" that twins that age require--when you are used to taking children around with you or being with them, you have some kind of carry-all, diaper bag with you. Something with multiple pockets and usually waterproof--

I can see the McCanns not really having anything like that because they were so seldom with their younger children, they had to improvise with a regular suitcase.

Or maybe the reporter used the word suitcase for a duffle bag/tote bag kind of carry all.

What time was the "early dinner" with Maddie? Were the twins still at the creche?

And why indeed would you forget to say "We got Maddie at four so she could have an early dinner with us."

Meowy I thought the same thing... :(

All the shots I've seen of Cuddle Cat, he looks brand new. My son carried a stuffed dog and by the time he was 3, even with washings, he was looking a bit sad. Cuddle Cat looks like fresh and new. I agree, I think it's a PR tool and maybe bought for that purpose.

Does anyone understand what this means: McCann and his wife, both 39, yesterday walked hand in hand through the apartment complex. They had lunch with the twins at the same tapas bar as the evening before. McCann returned alone to the apartment, emerging with a suitcase and a bucket and spade for the twins.

That same article answered one of the questions I have had for a long time. Where were the twins when Kate returned, and how were they behaving?

"Silvia Batisa, head of administration at the complex, helped to comfort the family and interpret their interviews with the police: “The parents were devastated, in a panic. They wanted more police and dogs immediately. Kate said all the time, ‘Please find my daughter’ and ‘Madeleine is beautiful’.”

She recalled that the twins were still asleep in their two cots and there was the small, bright pink wool blanket that Madeleine likes to hold when she sleeps. “We walked out quickly so as not to wake up the twins. The parents immediately said, ‘She’s been kidnapped’,” said Batisa. "

So, I interpret this to say that Silvia Batisa, who was working at the complex when Madeleine was discovered missing, was one of the first people on the scene. Apparently, the twins were still sleeping in their cots, she saw the blanket Madeleine slept with, and then "We walked out so as not to wake up the twins." This just seems unbelievable to me. I would imagine when Kate returned to the apartment and found Madeleine missing, she would have been calling her name and looking in closets, under beds, everywhere! I would have even woke the twins up and asked them where is Madeleine!!! This article makes it sound like Kate entered the apartment, found Madeleine missing, and didn't bother to look or call at all! She just ran back to the Tapas bar and screamed "They've taken her." I have been trying to look at the evidence in this case, and quite honestly, there isn't enough evidence either way to feel confident in either "The Parents Did It" camp or "The Parents Didn't Do It" camp. The behavior of Kate upon initially finding Madeleine missing is just shocking to me, however. How many other mothers would find their child missing and not start screaming her name loud enough to be heard at the Tapas bar without leaving the apartment??:waitasec:

Thank goodness they have been cleared.I never thought this couple were involved.
I too never thought this couple were involved, but they were known to some of the friends who were with the McCanns. Mmmmmmm.
