PJ files: the McCanns' statements

Witness statement of Kate Marie Healy, on the 6th of September 2007, at 3 p.m.

When asked if she ever slept in Madeleine’s bedroom, she says that such happened on the Wednesday, because she was annoyed with Gerry. He ignored her after dinner when they went to the Tapas bar, which only happened that day. She decided to retaliate by sleeping in the other bedroom, in the bed under the window. She doesn’t know if Gerry noticed this because he was sleeping when she left, and if in fact her husband was aware of this, he made no comment.[/I]

Well well well, thats interesting. I heard of it actually but thought it was just forum make up.

So on the 2nd May when a child was heard to be crying for over an hour etc, this is the night the McCanns have a tiff? I thought their marriage was so perfect.

ALSO surely the bed would have been made in the morning? Maddys had been didnt even look as though it had been slept in.....

very interesting....

Re. Madeleine's wardrobe - If you looked in through the window it would run along the left hand wall - it is a built-in type. I have seen a pic or diagram in early days.

Thanks so the largest travel cot was virtually against it....

Short answer seems to be, yes, but only if you're the FBI and only if the towers are in America, also only if you have the resources to wade through a hundred thousand unrelated pings.

:seeya:

With Joanna Yeates case they knew the mobile number they were looking for, its totally different. Mind you just because someone is using a phone on a bridge does not mean they have done anything wrong just that they are lying.

I remember clearly listening to Amaral at the beginning getting really frustrated because every lead they had (even the stuff from the laboratory re DNA) took for ever to get any results. I remember too that they asked for mobile phone data and it was DENIED....its there somewhere.....because it would be too time consuming and costly.

I have said before i followed this case from the second the McCanns came on the T.V. sky news.....

The key witness in the case is reported to have gone into hiding after fleeing Portugal. Police have sworn the waiter to secrecy over his vital testimony and know where he is. But friends say he is terrified his identity is about to be revealed and that he will come under pressure from rival factions in the case. He is scared of British and Portuguese government influence in the probe. Friends claim he is also wary of the team of private eyes hired by Kate and Gerry McCann to help find their daughter.

The tapas bar waiter – described by police as their “trump card” – has given what detectives believe is the most reliable account of what happened the night the four-year-old vanished. They have questioned him three times, most recently last week. Officers say his story can prove Madeleine’s parents are lying over her disappearance. Many of the 100 questions officers want to ask the McCanns and their holiday friends – the so-called Tapas Nine – are thought to be based on his information.

But, according to former colleagues at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, the knowledge he is playing such a vital role in the case that has gripped the world has horrified him. One said: "He does not want to be involved in any of this. He was just a restaurant worker. His only problem was remembering food orders. He’s terrified."

It is reported that thousands of Portuguese telephone records have been seized and detectives are trawling through the paperwork looking for unusual patterns of calls around the time she vanished.

Head of the inquiry Paulo Rebelo ordered the check across Praia da Luz, Burgau and Lagos - a region which has a population of 27,000.

Detectives have begun the process of contacting up to 1,000 locals whose records or mobile signals show they were in Praia da Luz on the night of May 3. Officers are particularly interested in the time between 9.30pm and 10pm, when they believe Madeleine disappeared.

thank you fellow canuk!

if cadaver dogs hit on things like garbage, dirty diapers, nail clippings, etc. they'd be running amok alerting everywhere :scared:

LOL.

I can i just point out IF the dogs had alerted incorrectly, and also alerted to the scent of garbage, diapers, nail clippings etc, they would have been immediately retired from service.

The were then taken to the states and worked with the FBI I think around July 2007.

Also Eddie was used in our area and indicated death in a farm house.

http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co...tory-11860269-detail/story.html#axzz2jBP7wh4q

Also in another case the dog indicated to the ceiling in a house, but it took 4 more searches before OUR STUPID POLICE found the childs body, even though the cadaver dog kept barking at the ceiling.....

THESE are just a few of the cases this remarkable dog has helped solve.

Legal sources claim that Kate and Gerry McCann may have to apply to the European Court of Human Rights to clear their names. The couple believe they are likely to remain official suspects for many years, making it difficult for them to begin rebuilding their lives.

It is believed that the Portuguese authorities will not lift the McCanns’ “arguido” status in the coming months, which raises the prospect of a protracted legal battle through the Portuguese courts, which could eventually end in the human rights court.

Lawyers representing Kate and Gerry, will attempt to clear their names officially in the New Year. But should that fail, they are prepared for a lengthy and bitter legal battle.

Although I am not a huge fan of scenarios incriminating the McCanns, my eye fell on this one.

We naturally assume the sniffer dogs on May 4th and 8th were following a trace of somebody carrying/kidnapping Maddie (e.g. the parents or an abductor). If it was an abductor, it is a long and very risky route to pick. But now suppose that we REVERSE the peculiar route the sniffer's dog followed in this picture:

maddietrail.jpg

Then the route still remains pretty strange, but now could support an interesting scenario where an accident has actually happened to Maddie near the parking lot (or near the exit of the pool) and she is then actually carried back into apartment 5A, however the one(s) carrying her, then wanted to remain as unseen as possible and hence they took the 'longer way home' using the more shielded/covered foot path. If it were the McCanns then one also knows that an accident must have happened when the patio door was locked from the inside other the patio stairs would have been used (i.e. probably when then spend a longer time aways from the apartment). Has this been considered as an option? Of course it also implies that when Maddie (who maybe already died) was removed from the apartment, it had to happen by car and/or wrapped in plastic not leaving additional traces for the sniffer dogs.

Thoughts?

You mean when the dogs sniffed scent towards the supermarket?

The one theory i had was she came out looking for her parents. I swear to god I read that the top of the steps had a stair gate...I thought at the time at nearly 4 year old would try to climb over it or the balustrade, causing her to fall ..... didnt they find blood scent in the flower bed or was that the other side...sorry so much information i am on overload lol...

It is revealed that police want to trace a blue tennis bag allegedly taken from Kate and Gerry McCann's apartment on the night Madeleine went missing. Detectives think the hold-all could have been used to carry Madeleine as she was taken away, or even to transport the three-year-old's body. It belonged to the girl's father but has not been seen since the night of May 3, according to a Sky News documentary due to be broadcast on Christmas Eve.

Expert Tony Rogers, who reviews unsolved cases for British police and worked on the Soham investigation, said: "If it's a bag of a size that could be used to take a child away from the flat, that would be of great interest to the investigating officer."

Mr McCann told friends yesterday that he did not take any tennis equipment to Praia da Luz, and did not own a blue tennis bag. But Sky News stood by its story, which it said came from sources who had travelled to the resort after Madeleine's disappearance.

Portuguese newspaper Diaria de Noticas reports that the Policiaria Judiciaria have been searching for months for a blue tennis bag, with sufficient size to carry a small child, which belonged to Gerry McCann. The story, advanced by Sky News, adds that Gerry McCann assured PJ investigators at the time that the bag had been "stolen".

It is also reported that British police gave Portuguese detectives the details of 52 UK sex offenders with links to the Algarve. It is alleged that one of them is still to be eliminated as a suspect. The information was supplied by the Child Exploitation and On-line Protection Centre, whose specialist staff arrived in Portugal within days of Madeleine's disappearance.

The last UK paedophile wanted for questioning by Portuguese police over the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has been cleared. British police had given their Portuguese counterparts a list of 52 British paedophiles who had links to Portugal. Detectives had already discounted the involvement of 51 of them but had not been able to track down the final one. However, the unnamed man has now been located, questioned and cleared of any involvement.

The paedophile was able to give an alibi for his whereabouts on May 3, the day Madeleine, now four, was snatched from her family's holiday apartment in Praia Da Luz. Portuguese newspaper Correio Da Manha reported: "All British paedophiles have been investigated and acquitted."

No. Incorrect. In both cases I mentioned it was first finding the phone numbers.
Then the phone number led them to the criminal.

They didnt get Tabak just because of phone pings...i followed the case, i actually used to drive past the place they found her body.

There was a lot more to it then that.....

I knew it was him when he pointed to Jeffries.............

Police were also said to want to seize clothes and other items - including the pink soft toy Cuddle Cat - on which trained sniffer dogs allegedly picked up the "scent of death". Detectives have long questioned why Mrs McCann was so attached to Cuddle Cat and why, if it was her last link with Madeleine, she allowed it to be washed. They have suggested the toy was cleaned to destroy any potential DNA evidence, such as blood. Mrs McCann said it had simply become too grubby. Other items sought by police are thought to include the couple's laptops and private correspondence, Mrs McCann's Bible, in which a passage related to the death of a child was marked, and their phone records.

Claims that blood traces were definitely Madeleine's

It is claimed that blood traces discovered in Kate and Gerry McCann's hire car were from Madeleine. A Portuguese newspaper alleges that tests conducted at the FSS in Birmingham show conclusively that the blood is that of the four-year-old.

The Policia Judicaria apparently believe the tests back up the theory that the McCanns moved Madeleine after she died in their holiday appartment. A second blood sample reportedly found in their Praia da Luz holiday flat was also claimed to have come from Madeleine.

Daily newspaper Correio da Manha reported: "The definitive result of the tests recently sent from England leave no doubts for the Policia Judiciaria. The blood found in the McCanns’ car is that of Madeleine, as well as those samples detected in the flat rented by the English and where the child, then three years old, disappeared without trace.”

O'Brien and Tanner named as two who wanted to change story

Dr Russell O'Brien and his partner Jane Tanner are named as the two friends reported last year to have told police they wanted to change their account of that evening. Ms Tanner, 37, from Exeter, says she saw a mystery man carrying a child away from the flat at 9.15pm on the night Madeleine vanished. Police were said to believe Dr O'Brien, 36, wanted to change his statement to claim he also saw the man, newspaper 24 Horas reported.

But staff at the restaurant say Ms Tanner was at the table throughout the meal and only left after Kate came running in shouting, "They've taken her", the newspaper reported. Dr O'Brien and Ms Tanner have denied contacting police to change their stories and sources close to the McCanns support that position.

Madeleine McCann 'died after fall down steps'
30 Sep 2007

Portuguese police believe Madeleine McCann died after falling down a flight of steps and that her parents panicked, hiding her body because they feared being blamed, it was claimed yesterday.

It was alleged that the four-year-old smashed the back of her head on a ceramic flagstone at her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

Fearing they would be charged with manslaughter, Kate and Gerry McCann then got rid of the body, possibly with the help of their friends, it was alleged.

A senior detective told Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas: "The only thing to investigate is how the body disappeared." The newspaper claims Madeleine fell down steps at the back of the apartment.

Photographs taken at the time show a children's safety barrier above the steps.

The new theory emerged after a report from Britain said specialist sniffer dogs had detected the "smell of death" on the steps, it was claimed. In the past, Mr and Mrs McCann, both 39, have been accused of hiding their daughter's body because she had been sedated.

Yes I read all your links before. There is tons of stuff out there.

yet one tiny 3 year old missing................

god bless her.🤬🤬🤬

I admire your research. Do you have anything pertinent that is recent? Much of what was reported in 2007 and 2008 has been disproved.

I have posted these old articles as IMO they are still relevant today and I thought some newbies might like to read them. I had forgotten some of the details myself.

The case was shelved in 2008 but IMO their findings are still relevant now.

The original PJ collected the evidence and most of it is in the translated case files which they will have to go by or disprove.

The only reason the case was shelved in 2008 is because the Tapas9 refused to go back to PDL for a reconstruction with flimsy excuses and with British Government protection. So there was a stalemate.

They might have told the McCanns they are not suspects recently but IMO that is only to keep them onside so they do not have to extradite them while the PJ and SY find enough evidence to be able to arrest them. In this case, instead of starting with the parents, IMO they will end with the parents!

Iana, new evidence will not be released now as it is SECRET.

Not much has happened since 2008 as the case was shelved. So they are starting again at this point IMO although the media is trying to tell us otherwise. .

Most things you will read in the UK MSM now will be spin from the McCanns so do not necessarily believe it. You have to read between the lines.

The media is too scared to print the truth as they did at times in 2007 as they do not want to be Carter Rucked. I think the Express gave the tapas an out of court settlement of about half a million pounds in 2008.

Believe me this is a very complex case with many layers.

There is no evidence of an abduction except the Smith sighting now and the lies of the Tapas9. If it was, indeed, Gerry, IMO he was carrying another blonde child the same size as Maddie hoping to be seen but not recognised because IMO Maddie died earlier in the week. I really do not think he can find an independent alibi about his whereabouts between 9.30 and 10pm on May 3. In this case, Gerry would be found out to be lying. So why did he lie if he is an innocent father?

Slowly but surely Maddie will get the justice she rightly deserves.

IMO the way they will solve this case is by analysing the mobile phone records from at least April, 2007, the creche records all week looking for forged signatures and re-interviewing the Tapas9 about their whereabouts earlier in the week because a different time of death will be found IMO.

But first, they have to find out if the Smith sighting was one of Gerry or an innocent father carrying his child home.

Is there a link, or links, that show these seven were discounted? I don't believe I've ever seen where they were all located, let alone cleared.

I gave you a link a few pages back in reply to Derek Flack with all the sightings on the one page - except the Smith sighting. About 7 sightings of possible abductor who have all given alibis and over 100 sightings of Maddie have been examined and there is only one which is relevant and that is the Smith sighting.

Believe me it is a waste of time worrying about any of these except the Smith sighting as I believe that dogs do not lie!

This case is about to go cosmic, I can taste it. The McCann's are about to walk into something rather special.

I love this comment of yours!

This is the case of the century!

The special place I would like then to walk into is the court so they have to swear on the Bible and tell the truth.

Now Jane Tanner's sighting has been put aside, I cannot help thinking that she has talked to SY.

Now we have to crack Oldfield and O'Brien.

I would also like them to check on David Payne's past history before 2007.

The UK media are waiting ready to print the truth once the McCanns have run out of money to pay lawyers.

I have always thought that the only way justice will be served is when the Fund runs out of money and cannot afford lawyers! Otherwise, a confession from one of them but that does not seem likely.

Now Robert Murat has been exonerated with the admission that Tanner saw an innocent father walking his child back home.
