Did they travel by plane to get from UK to Portugal? If so, an over the counter anti-nausea medication might have been packed. I would have no issue at all with a parent who packed a mild anti-nausea medication for a child expected to drive or fly knowing that car or airsickness might be something they'd possibly have to deal with. Even some anti-allergy medications like Benadryl have a mild sedative effect... and would be totally normal for a parent to bring on a trip. Not saying KM or GM used any such substances at all in this case, just pointing out it wouldn't be uncommon for a parent to pack them / bring them / buy them over the counter either at home, or possibly while away.

All the meds they took to PDL is written in their statements PJ Files. MM wasn't given any meds that evening.

Also,IF he had been watching he would know she was crying the night before..why risk taking a child that is prone to crying and potentially alerting someone..this is what makes me think he has subdued her in some way with something to make her sleepy..but how and when..its unlikely hes killed her at the apartment..how long would it have taken to wait for her to become sleepy whilst giving her something in the apartment?,in a drink maybe?,still making a risky situation a lot riskier by waiting what 15 or 20 mins?,nothing was found at apartment so hes either placed something directly in her mouth or taken something with him and then taken it back out of apartment with him..unless something was injected..but injecting her in the dark would you need to find a vein or could something be injected anywhere?,i dont understand how there seems to be no struggle and nothing really disturbed..

I was with you on this, until I read a really good account from a paediatric pharmacologist about how it’s really hard to administer the right amount of drug/ sedative to a child without killing them and with ease of administration.

IMO She was not drugged - it wasn't his M.O. C.B is not that smart!
Cunning, but not smart!
There's no need for her to have been drugged, he groomed children - That's what he excelled at!
He inflicted pain, he was sadistic, he would not have drugged victims imo as he would have wanted to enjoy and get sexual gratification from the effects of his torture.

Hey folks! Just now getting time to sit down, get caught up on the thread and read through some things! Fair play to anyone trying to work out the location of the WF in the “rope/steel rod” pic! One of the most tedious and frustrating tasks on here, and I know I’m immensely grateful that some of you are willing to take it on, as I’m sure everyone is. I had kinda ruled out Germany as a possible location last night, but looking at pics of Sylt I think yous could be on to something.
A massive thank you to anyone who has sent me PMs - I have plenty to keep me busy now lol and I will get back to yous ASAP I promise. Think I went into sleuth overload yesterday and just haven’t been able to focus today! Need to start writing everything down from now on, my head’s deeved trying to keep everything neatly filed in there.

Anyway! Enough of the pleasantries

So, I had a quick look over some of the McCann files. Something that stood out to me was a statement given by a babysitter, Margaret Hall, who had been watching a young girl in apartment 5A 8 months before the McCann’s stayed. She heard a noise outside the front of the apartment, and as the apartment had “a rodent problem”, she went to investigate what she thought was a rat. Turned out to be a Portuguese looking dude hiding in the shadows, that came towards her saying “no no” and *activated the motion sensor light outside the apartment*. I’ve never heard mention of a motion sensor light outside the apartment before, has anyone else? Surely if CB went in the front door/bedroom window, this light would have been activated? Assuming it was working at the time of the MC’s stay of course. In my experience, these lights are never orange, they’re always either warm white or bright white, so it would be noticeable against the street lights. If the Tapas7’s statements and timings were anywhere near correct (I think the general consensus on here is that they were not), JT, GM and his tennis mate would surely have noticed the bright white light being activated? This makes me think either the light was broken, or he didn’t use the front of the apartment for access. Or he did, and it was nowhere near the time these three were in the street. And not one other single person noticed. Generally, each apartment would have their own motion sensor light, or they would be placed periodically, so he couldn’t have walked past the front of any other apartment either. They couldn’t all have been broken. Someone would have noticed a light being activated and gone to investigate. The mate that did a quick check and noticed the shutters up had stated there was more light in the bedroom than usual, but no mention of a colour difference, so I assume he just meant more street light because the shutters weren’t down?

Also, the night before her disappearance, when the above neighbour heard crying for about an hour - wasn’t this the night KM said in her book that her mate RO was feeling poorly so didn’t attend Tapas with them, but stayed in the apartment *next* to 5A - did she not hear the crying? She could well have been in a deep sleep if she was feeling poorly, but crying going on for around an hour and she wasn’t disturbed once? A mother herself, who would be attuned to children crying?


I dunno why I get so caught up in these tiny details lol, but they fry my head and I just wish we knew what was being kept from us. But I know too that’s counterproductive and we have no right to know! Grrrrrr

(Also, I had a look on the Inga thread today. Worldwatcher and Sleuth, I think your contributions there were fantastic. But feck me, the OP there really takes no eh??lol staying out of that one!)

Note the white circle I've added to the 'dog' on the sofa (screen left). This no longer appears to be a dog to me when I lighten it up in the most basic photo edit (increase exposure, reduce contrast).

I didn't see any faces in the curtains in the camper van or even the beach umbrella in the back but was astonished to see 2 x dogs in this photo and a blurred, smudged image of a small, blonde female child in the white circled area..

Aah yes I've read this thanks - But your post said that he met someone 'while in childhome' - which I thought could have been new info, but apparently not.

I think my post got lost yesterday in all the dog excitement - but when I looked at first I thought it was a dog but then saw that it's one of 2 dark coloured square scatter cushions leaning against the back of the sofa/bed.

Also as far as we have read, there is no suggestion CB had a dog in Portugal - only whilst in Germany.

The "friends" who cleaned/burgled the flat and found the rape video sound very unconvincing to me. They claim that in the video they saw, CB removes his mask at the end revealing his identity (so presumably not a version available on the dark web). This sound much more like a device to explain to the police how they found out about the rape and video when they really knew about it all along. The claim that they initially went to clean the house but ended up burgling it suggests to me that they were drug addicts. I would like to know more about the "friends" and the circumstances of them talking to the police.

Very unconvincing to me, too. The robbery thing. How German LE connected him to Algarve's rape. Not enough convincing. Something hidden here.

I think my post got lost yesterday in all the dog excitement - but when I looked at first I thought it was a dog but then saw that it's one of 2 dark coloured square scatter cushions leaning against the back of the sofa/bed.

That's what I initially saw too, 2 cushions. Probably grubby, grimy ones, that matched the rest of that unkempt, untidy room. I looked for the dog because other people saw a dog and I wanted to give that alleged dog a chance but that dog, no matter how hard I looked (and I'm on a very high res screen) remained a pair of mustardy-coloured cushions, no matter how hard I looked.

The villa is about 40 miles from the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, the holiday resort where three-year-old Madeleine disappeared in May 2007.

The villa, which is understood to have never been searched by police, was rented between 2002 and 2009 by a German woman called Nicole who is said to have used it for a rehabilitation programme for troubled teenagers.

A German couple who have lived in the village for more than 20 years said they immediately recognised Brueckner when he was named last week as the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine and his image appeared in the media.

'I said, 'That's Christian' before I even read what his name was,' said the husband, who asked not to be named.

'The first time I met him he was hosting a party at the restaurant.

'He had two dogs, one medium-sized, one small. The name of the small one I even remember, it was called Frau Muller and was always rummaging around the bins.

That would make even more sense because now they'd have *something over him* if he ever wanted to go tell police about them / any of their members.
