The Judicial Police was yesterday considering searching the abandoned shafts in Praia da Luz for Madeleine’s body, according to Portuguese newspaper Sol. Officers earlier this month were understood to be looking to dig up land around two houses Brueckner lived in while in Praia da Luz. The other building sits on a hill above the resort, about 11 minutes away from the Ocean Club the McCanns were staying
.He continued: “The obvious focus would be around the hillside former farm building and another property nearby with links to him.”

They should have searched the abandoned shafts back in 2007. JMO MOO

I suppose with what's happening, it blows away any thoughts of mm and any other children that could be his victims, that they were stolen to order for childless couples.
Did anyone see about that young Russian girl, I think around 8/10 years old, she was abducted by a man in his car, with his partner, the partner then told the police where the body was, its so bloody easy, doesn't bear thinking about
So little IG, this could of happened to her, see what you think when you read it, it was in the news a few days ago, god bless her

I’ve thought about this too, Jen. In a damp environment there would be nothing but her own DNA to be found. But at least her parents would have some sentiment of peace.

ETA - probably the wrong turn of phrase there. Peace doesn’t come into it, they’ll be tortured for the rest of their lives. But at least they’ll be able to lay her to rest. That’s such a massive part of the grieving process that they’re still going through to this day.

the whole thing is horrific from start to end.

D, many such scaring wells in cliffs near sea connect to ocean. It's the case with both.

The search site is also near the beach where prime suspect Christian Brueckner’s VW camper van was photographed in 2007........’

ETA: Had to search what a donkey-driven irrigation was...never heard of that before!

Forensic evidence?? Omg I wonder what the heck they found?? Bones? Teeth? MM's parents and siblings must be beside themselves at this news.

Forensic as in: material collected relating to the forensic research in the well(s).
So debris or what ever they have brought up, will be investigated further in the lab in search for human remains.
I assume.

That device above well had a lever connected to a donkey which turned around well and thus they had a continuous water flow.

I had a look again at that article. It had a photo of the German field that they used to gather in. It looks like some kind of rock being mined (not sure if the technical language), would that be limestone, and is that the same kind of thing as the lime that may have been in the wells that have been recently searched?
