I still think he's too silly to have done it alone and I'm not that absolutely sure he did it. Are you? Of course I consider that hypothesis like any other likely hypothesis worth consideration. Avoiding highways is something too basic. He couldn't count on information we had after abduction.
Well none of us can be absolutely sure CB is the perpetrator, we're not privy to the evidence the BKA have. My original contention on whether he could have done it alone was on the basis that the crime didn't take any mastermind criminal. Could have just been pure opportunism and luck. Or, could have been planned like all the other robberies/rapes he was never caught for. It's totally feasible he could have done it alone, and equally feasible there were others involved.

Same goes for travelling to Foral immediately afterwards or using the highways. I'm not saying that's my theory but can't see how either can be discounted like you seem to be saying.

The Sun and The Mirror are claiming that a tip off from Bavaria, Germany, regarding the caller on the other end of CB's May 3rd call has proven useful.

NF appears on it, as does a Roman Slobodyuk

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw2K4y5xssUGRr_68Lhobrfy

Did anyone see the picture here: Roman Slobodyuk, Radekhov - Search Information of a Roman Slobodyuk and others in a wig and fancy dress. Some look a bit uncomfortable having the photo I thought. Has anyone found clearer photos of him or the others?

I saw that, but discounted it because his birth year is listed as 1984.

I did find a “R. Slobodyan” that lives in Lagos and his profile photo is of him standing in front of a tree with a fancy “RN” in a heart carved into it. But it’s a very recent photo, and I guess the surnames don’t exactly match. On a reach you could say he changed his surname slightly because he’s in a lot of debt, if that name on the SS debtors list is even him... And maybe he took NF back after she finished with CB. But again, it’s a very big reach.

DLK, of course he could have been lucky and likely would if he was crazy enough to follow highway, we know. He only had to be crazy and we all know he is. But we know he's quite unlucky. He burries a USB on a dog's camp and they find it. They catch him stealing diesel. They find his Skype messages. They catch him dealing drugs and molesting children all the time. He made such a poor figure in SBM pretending to make a call with a cigarette packed and offering no resistance. But, yes, he can be lucky sometimes. Right in the major crime he ever committed as far as we know.

Roman Slobodyuk also brings up a google search result of tax debt in Ontario in 2010, unless I have gone completely mad and misread something.

Sources said it was from the Bavaria region of Germany where convicted paedophile and rapist Christian B used to live.

The caller said they had recognised the number and on Thursday night details were due to be revealed on the TV show.

Furthe to this - (Translation a little murky)

Update from July 15, 9:35 a.m .: Maddie McCann has been missing for 13 years. Rudi Cerne, moderator of file sign XY ... unresolved "hopes that this case can still be clarified. According to the ZDF broadcast in June, 16 clues were received, which the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) is following.

Below that could be a hint, Rudi Cerne said opposite the picture. It's a Portuguese phone number, Cerne explains. Obviously there is an opportunity for the owner of this phone number to find out. Although everything is still very dangerous, but you absolutely want to know who called now.

Perhaps we're not thinking clearly. There are dozens of those listings by debt amount and debts can be very old (NF left in 2009 but IRS never forgets). If you check other listings you may find other Roman names followed by S surname (I will but can't do that today). Why had Roman to have also a debt and also in the same amount? They may be protecting him by changing surname to Scott, but why wouldn't they protect NF too?

Can you link that?

Enter his name followed by "Portugal" into the facebook search bar; it brings up a profile that doesn't seem to match NF's myspace. The NF photo shows someone quite tall and slimish.

This gent looks on the shorter stocky side to me IMO and is not the same guy - that's just some dude who owes tax money. No connection to this case I don't think, but he is also listed as living in Lagos so I guess it's possible.

I find I’m thinking less clearly with every new bit of information released about him... And starting to really question if this is “our guy” :( I really hope HCW isn’t using the MM case to sway the judges’ decisions tomorrow...

ETA - Or to make sure that if he does walk (which he won’t, HCW has already said he’ll be rearrested) or when he’s released for the rape in the future, that he won’t be able to put a foot wrong because all eyes will be on him. I don’t want to accuse an LE of putting someone’s life in danger, but if he ever sees the light of day again... The public have long memories, and vigilantism isn’t a new concept...

Now we'll squeeze that guy until we know for sure he is or he is not the one. More likely not the one. That's why it's so frustrating and tiresome following false leads.

Thanks to those who clarified what the list of names is. Theres also a DS on the list. And I can't think of any other names to look for!

Yes re the odd fancy dress photo. Might be completely innocent and unconnected. But it's definitely an odd photo to use, esp given that that site seems to be adult-only

You could link any of the pedophiles in the area that night to MM. You could also make any of the workers in that hotel look like a suspect with the right headlines and digging out any oddities in their personal lives.

However, Christian is the only person that has knowingly spoken about it, supposedly claiming to have known what went down. He also just so happens to be a rapist and a sadist. On top of this his behaviour in the short period that followed such as re-registering his car and returning with the motor home is most bizarre.

I'm certain the German's have their man. I would bet my home that he did it, but whether he did it alone is something I wouldn't be so sure about.

I agree, but I wouldn't bet my home.

True that, Avenger. Need to keep reminding myself of this to stay on track. Thank you.

That's okay. We are all just frustrated because we know something terrible happened to an innocent girl of 3 and that zero justice has been done for her. It will be though. It's very difficult looking at these kinds of crimes involving children objectively.

After 11 threads looking at meaningless photographs of vans parked in various places, asking about timelines, looking at every girlfriend CB ever had blah blah blah......

Nothing has changed. Not an iota.

Even the Germans are giving up soon. See link to DM article above.

Pointless Sleuthing is pointless. A good sleuth knows when it is a dead end.
No. A case only becomes a cold case once every witness is found. Every site is searched. All the footage is scoured and still nobody is charged. It could be shelved for 10-20 yrs, but whoever pulls that file to re-investigate, will once again re interview every witness, visit every site and go through all the footage. To find that 1 missing piece, you will have to take it back to square one. Time and time again if necessary. And more often than not, the answer has been in there, looking at you from the files all along! Every good Detective knows that X

I strongly disagree. Following an alert, Police don't start randomly pulling people over half an hour or more away from the scene. The first thing they do is attend the scene, gather the facts, then carry out a local search. Like I said, the further away you are, the better really. Not saying CB did take her to Foral, but don't think you can discount it on the basis of distance. Also, I don't know where you are getting 1h30 minute drive from? It's a 46 minute drive from PDL and don't see any reason for him to take side roads, police don't set up road blocks/checks on main roads all over the country like that following a report of a missing person.
Roads blocks are vital when a toddler vanishes in an overseas Country, especially one that is infamous in child sex trafficking! The police were not interested from the get go. They must have known WHY they had been called to an emergency at The Ocean Club. But whilst en route, another call came in for a suspected burglary taking place miles away.. The 1st error in the emergency of MM was made right then, when them officers performed a U-turn and drove miles out to an alarm that was sounding! The rest is history! Bas*#@+* X
