Possibly a fetish considering he dressed up too but it's also a way of hiding oneself.
There's a saying that your eyes are a window into your soul and it's true. Our eyes can show around a 3rd of all micro expressions on our faces and not being able to see someones eyes, we cannot infer what emotions they are displaying - also it's very intimidating not being able to see someones eyes, (as if rape wasn't intimidating enough!)
Also CB may have been hiding his own insecurities by wearing goggles, maybe body dysmorphia, due to his scars or his general feelings of inadequacy. It would possibly have made him feel more 'powerful' in a sense.
I realise his scars would have been exposed, but that's not how it works, you literally hide 'the self' behind goggles, sunglasses, whatever, which makes someone gain a level of security, if that makes sense.

It's a fairly common S/M practice, and fine where consent is given and trust exists between the participants. Nothing 'dark web' about it when the former criteria applies.

CB using blacked out goggles to commit assault and rape seems less about sexual pleasure though and much more to do with wanting to generate abject terror in the victim. While also, obviously, keeping his identity hidden.

I can't find it but I'm sure I read something about car parts that were worth a small fortune in morrocco .. I'll keep looking but I cannot find it

"I knew they were worth a fortune in Morocco because I'd been there for a couple of months in 2005. You can even get good money for Mercedes nuts and bolts there. "I knew people on the docks at Faro and I got the captain of a ferry to take us over for free. We stayed in Morocco for two months and came back in the August. I made 300 euros from the car parts."

I do recall the report mentioning that. After the burglary, the ladies accused NF and there was a hearing and court documents were drawn up.

Sure they were and were shown. But I haven't seen but a trip to Lisbon in October mentioned. And only one call mentioned in court papers, the one she did on November 1, 2007. Did you see anything else?
