yeh true, typical media, I guess I have to keep more skeptical when it comes to what they say, Grrrr so frustrating for all of us xx

Oh no, I know Betty you weren't, you are right about the red tops, anything to sell a story! My mum passed recently and we have followed this since 07, and she always said the same about the red tops, take what they say with a pinch of salt ! wise woman x

Sorry to hear about your mum, Snowpea. Hope you’re holding up ok 🤬🤬🤬

I followed this case with my mum for a few years, too, before she passed in 2011. Strange thing; she always maintained it would take someone, years down the line, getting drunk and revealing what they know for it to get solved o_O she may not have been far wrong!

EXCLUSIVE: Madeleine McCann kidnap suspect 'had a CELLAR' on allotment being dug up by police in Germany and ‘lived off-grid on the plot in 2007’ - the same year the girl vanished

Madeleine McCann investigators resume digging at German allotment | Daily Mail Online

Here too traces were destroyed (by mistake of course):
A former neighbour of Brueckner claims the sex offender lived at the vegetable garden in 2007 - the same year Madeleine vanished - and that the buildings on his plot of land were demolished in 2008.

Very very sad. A nightmare.
Neighbour's description of CB:
"He arrived in 2007 and left within a year. He told me that he was living off the grid, that he had not registered with the authorities – no one knew he was there.

"He never did any gardening. He did not plant anything or try to grow anything. He just sat around drinking beer.

"At the time there was a building in the garden. It was a small wooden structure with only one room to keep tools and other things but it had a kitchen.

"The building was not really a house, you might call it a shed. But it had a cellar and underneath there would be foundations. This building was destroyed in 2008."

Mr Kossack said the suspect disappeared in 2008 and he never saw him again.

The small house with the cellar location mentioned in Madeleine McCann investigators resume digging at German allotment | Daily Mail Online

The very corner plot, the house is missing.

ETA

You can draw a straight line from the cellar Point A, through Point B and to what I think might be the tunnel entrances at point C on @redplanet post.

Could the cellar connect to the tunnel system?

I extended the line to the river, there is also a stone slab similar to Point C.

I think that LE are trying to locate the exact location of the tunnel at Point B.

Sky now reporting that CB’s allotment has been lying empty for years, possibly since he lived there. Dig also expected to go on until at least Friday.

I'm confused (understatement)
Especially at this stage when we don't really know that much about CB and what we do know is fragmented. If he's committed serious crimes, possibly spanning a lot of years and also been in prison for various other lesser crimes; moved around - a lot, however keeping to some kind of pattern ie Portugal/ Germany then how has he kept under the radar (for years) for potentionally very serious crimes?
That's the question!

Isn't gray van on left a Hanover prison van, Super? Question is: wouldn't CB be carried in a Braunschweig prison van?

ETA: correction well made by Betty that I should have said Kiel prison van.

r
I don't think CB would be giving info myself. LE said at the start they suspected other people knew what had happened. I also recall, but can't find, them saying something about him being in jail now and loyalties changing.

I'd be very surprised, given his previous careers, if he didn't have pals in prison that knew something and useful. So perhaps it is one of those other person's doing a deal.

That's if it is a prisoner van

Wow, certainly puts a different spin on things to think he could have had time there uninterrupted, hard to know if they mean empty while he lived or only since he left...

What I took from it, Stella, is that he may be the last known inhabitant and no one else has been on the land since him.
But again, Sky is still using the word “possibly”.

But that's already assumptions. Even if some kind of vehicle with small windows on the side are often used as prison-busses, it does not mean, that they even can't be used for other purpose, forensics or just transport maybe.

But IF it really was used as a prison-transport, it would be VERY interesting!

Hard to think, L.E. would lead such a large scale operation due to the clue, that he just used the plot in the past. IMO they did not even "turned around" the Neuwegersleben area at that large scale. But how knows, maybe they do that after friday!;)

No, there must be a concrete witness statement, what can be found at the site!

I think Kossack meant CB’s two dogs used his allotment as a toilet lol. I feckin hope so anyway o_O

Yes. It's a translation issue. In german dogs do their "Geschäft". It means peeing and other things. But "Geschäft" is also translated as "business". German is a strange language, i know!

Oh, boy, enough now. You're right! Oops!
I honestly saw those two sociopaths doing their business in the garden next door!

I guess the link between petty diesel thief and murderer is quite rare. Petty thefts don't seem to lead to detailed background searches that might throw up the required links.

IMO minor sexual offences like indecent exposure aren't treated nearly seriously enough until there is an escalation and it's too late. How many threads on Websleuths will have found rapists and murderers had started off as flashers and been let off or not even investigated.

IMO it's time to treat those early signs far more seriously

I’m guessing the woman with him who the neighbour saw was NF.
Would NF be described as young? She’s about the same age at CB

Did CB destroy the building?

I wonder how he was allocated the allotment if he wasn’t even really living in Germany/Hanover between 1995 and 2007. In England you have to be on a waiting list for years to get an allotment. My feeling is that he must have had help from people with influence. Could someone else have organised this location knowing about its cellar and tunnel to the river, so that CB could bring Madeleine or her body to this location?

The man whose allotment neighbours the one being searched told the BBC that Christian B rented the plot for a few months in the year that Madeleine went missing.

The man said that Christian B arrived in the spring or summer of 2007 and told him he wanted to insulate a small shack which stood on a concrete base in the garden with a small cellar underneath.

The neighbour went on holiday in July 2007. When he returned in August, he said, the structure had been removed and he never saw the suspect again.

Madeleine McCann: Suspect Christian B rented allotment, neighbour says

Hmm, sounding more and more like this search could be directly for MM.
